We wanted to share a small but important update with you.

From 1st February 2026, there will be a slight increase to our service fees. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. In fact, it is the first time we have needed to review our pricing since 2019.

Over the past few years, the cost of running a small specialist service has risen significantly. This includes professional resources, secure electronic platforms, clinical systems, supervision and insurance. These elements sit quietly behind the scenes, but they are essential in allowing us to deliver safe, ethical and high quality neurodevelopmental assessments and support.

Our priority has always been, and will remain, the people and families who trust us at often vulnerable and uncertain points in their journey. Any increase is purely to ensure that we can continue to offer the time, care, expertise and clinical integrity that you deserve without compromise.

We are deeply grateful for your understanding and for the trust you place in Sensational Minds. Your support allows us to continue doing this work with the depth, compassion and professionalism that matters so much to us.

Thank you for being part of our community.

With warmth,
The Sensational Minds Team

This testimonial was written by a psychotherapist and parent who has supported many neurodivergent individuals and who trusted with their own child’s assessment.

It speaks to the importance of assessments that are clinically robust, emotionally safe and grounded in genuine understanding. Too many people reach us after experiences that felt rushed invalidating or harmful. We believe people deserve better. 🙏

At Sensational Minds, our work is guided by NICE standards, compassion and deep respect for lived experience. Diagnosis is not just about answers. It is about clarity safety and being seen.

We are deeply grateful for this recognition and for the trust placed in us every day 💙

A reflective Thursday evening thought.

Let’s talk about Neurofeedback Therapy.

Those who know Sensational Minds will know that its founder Rhiann Marchant comes from a strong education and clinical background. Rhiann is a fully qualified teacher SENCO and specialist educator for autism and ADHD with a Master’s degree in Autism. She has completed clinical training in ADOS-2 3Di and ACIA and has worked within multidisciplinary diagnostic teams for the past seven years. She is the founder of Ltd a neurodevelopmental assessment and post diagnostic support service for children young people and adults.

When Rhiann was first introduced to neurofeedback therapy, she was openly sceptical. Her professional values are firmly rooted in robust diagnostics evidence informed practice and interventions aligned with clinical standards. Like many practitioners working within UK frameworks she held understandable caution around approaches that sit outside formal clinical guidance.

Rather than dismissing neurofeedback she chose to approach it with curiosity. Rhiann spent time reviewing available research and case studies and engaged in detailed professional discussion with Zoe O’Sullivan to better understand both the theoretical foundations and the practical application of neurofeedback. Her intention was to explore whether this approach could offer meaningful additional support alongside established strategies.

Through direct observation she has since witnessed significant and sustained changes in two young people who completed twenty neurofeedback sessions. One child in particular previously presented with persistent echolalia repeated questioning attention regulation difficulties nocturnal enuresis and high reliance on adult support. After 20 sessions there were clear observable changes. He was able to listen to others’ responses initiate greetings engage independently in shared play with visible enjoyment and showed a marked reduction in bedwetting.

Equally important has been the impact on the wider family system. A parent well known to Rhiann moved from a place of understandable hypervigilance to feeling confident enough for her child to attend playdates and eat meals alongside peers. That shift in parental wellbeing trust and emotional safety was profound. While it is important to recognise that this child also benefited from an EHCP and a highly supportive family network with strong academic input Rhiann believes neurofeedback played a meaningful role when used collaboratively alongside other supports.

Rhiann does not claim to fully understand every aspect of neurofeedback therapy. What she does know is that she has reviewed credible literature including studies related to Tourette’s trauma and PTSD and has now witnessed meaningful change firsthand for children with diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent needs. Observing a child communicate in more connected purposeful ways and seeing parents feel calmer more supported and less isolated has been genuinely powerful.

Her position remains clear. High quality clinical understanding neurodivergent informed practice and thoughtful post diagnostic support are essential. At the same time she believes there is a responsibility within the sector to remain open to approaches that may enhance outcomes even when they are not yet embedded within UK guidance. There is growing international research particularly from the United States and this experience has significantly broadened her professional perspective.

Rhiann views neurofeedback not as a replacement but as a potential complementary intervention. She values the care integrity and reflective practice that Zoebrings to this work. Ultimately if an approach supports a child to thrive and helps a family feel safer more regulated and more confident it deserves thoughtful consideration.

Today was a sensational day!

Last week we supported a family through a heartfelt and productive mediation session after not one but two refusals to assess for their child’s much needed EHCP. More carefully evidenced documents were then written and shared by Sensational Minds and all parties.

Today the case returned to panel and the decision changed. Those clearer insights meant we were able to change their minds and they have now seen what we know to be this young persons reality. The council agreed to assess which means the family no longer needs to face the overwhelming tribunal process.

Celebrating these moments matters. Our families show such strength and it is a privilege to stand alongside them and help make sure children receive the support that is right for them 🙏
