Reflection of a live in carer and his client.
For years Rod has been with Paul our Client we have watched their friendship grow week on week. We got excited to see the weekly adventures Rod arranged. All the happiness it gave them both.
Never have I seen someone so happy to be at work and someone so happy to have his buddy come back after having time off .
From walks in the country ,day trips , picnics and holidays , football matches , theatre and cinema, dinners and dancing bowling and birthdays and my personal best a duo Christmas carol topped with Santa’s hat 🎅
They were even happy to sit home and watch John Wayne films (1000) times over and do colouring. It was alway done with a smile.
Every day a new one with a passion to make life rich and fulfilling a game of pool or Bowling every day a fun day. But how sad is it now that Dementia is doing its worst looking in his eyes now is a blank space no memories no sparkle ,unwell in a hospital bed. and who is sat beside him ? Yep his buddy Rod with his heart hurting but still reassuring still caring and being his support. Who is seeing the sadness of our staff. Who knows how much they give day in day out? it’s not just a job it’s life and making life for others giving yourself in the good times and more so in the bad. We are family we are all some clients have. We fight hard to ensure they are safe , loved , supported
Rod we have got you today and always . We appreciate and applaud you are an outstanding member of our team. We have been so lucky to have you working with our Paul what ever the future holds just know you could not have provided better care if you tried. Thank you 🤩 we are always here just know we care.

This post goes out to Stephanie Carr
I learned today through doing a clients Q/A review how much she appreciated the strawberries 🍓 you brought her.
She cried when telling me how much she appreciated the thought that went behind your actions and how much she was touched by this.
No one really sees all the little things we do that really matter when someone feels so alone lost and sad.
These posts of appreciation really matter to the staff as much as being a voice for the clients .
Well done Steph and to all the staff that make a difference no matter how big or small keep sending in your stories and encourage your clients to talk to us

We were informed of how clean and well presented the clients home is kept. and how happy the client is.
