Experiences with body image are unique and lots of young women with T1D struggle with body image. Despite this there is little research done about body image and T1D and even less about experiences of people from black and ethnic minority background.
Many young women struggle to talk to and get help from Diabetes teams, with some interactions even making young women feel worse. This research is looking to co-design resources that help Diabetes teams to give the support that young women with T1D want and need.
To make sure these resources speak about, reflect, and support real and diverse experiences of body image the national DAFNE team need your help! They need to fill this gap in the research to build a diverse understanding of body image that can be a part of these resources.
