Voices From The Past My name is Lyn Bloom and I have a passion for history. I hold a BA in History from the University of Essex and have recently completed a Diploma in Herbalism.

My historical interests include the everyday life of the ordinary women of the 14th century; medieval surgery, in particular the role of female barber surgeons; herbal remedies and the truth about so called 'wise women'; the Lucas family of Colchester; Bourne Mill, a wonderful little property owned by the National Trust and much more besides! I have worked with or for the National Trust, Colchester Castle, The Mary Rose Trust and various schools and other museums. My talks are all approximately 30-40 minutes long and sometimes involve physical props and even audience participation.
