We live in a society where is it celebrated when mums do it all on their own - the parenting, the work, running the house, doing it all. This often leave mums feeling anxious or unable to ask for the support that is needed.

We aren't meant to do it alone. Asking for help isn't weak, quite the opposite. Anxiety doesn't make you weak.

Now ethically I'm not okay hypnotising my children...trust me I've thought about it 🤣
However, I work with them a lot using breathing exercises, calming techniques and visualisation.

Nothing will come close to them learning straight from you and your actions. Your child's mental health is everything. And so is yours!

Show your children you can be the calm mum you want to be...more importantly show yourself you be the calm woman you want to be.

As mums, we give soooo much time to others and we are often last priority.

To be able to keep up everything you do, taking time for yourself is actually important. It is necessary.

Neither is sleep, rest or inner peace.

As mums we tend to prioritise others needs over our own...a lot! And we lose a lot in ourselves. This can lead to feeling overwhelmed, anxious, angery (oh that mum rage!)

I often watch my inner calm leave before 8am and spend the day working to get it back. But it is important to remember, it is not a luxury. It is deserved.

Whether it is a full spa day or a more realistic 5 minutes of peace in the bathroom it is ok to put yourself first find that calm and peace that you need and deserve!

How many times have you told yourself you're an anxious person?

You feel anxiety. You are not anxiety.
The more we say 'oh I'm just an anxious mum' the more we believe it is who we are. And then sometimes all we are.

You are more than how you feel. And more importantly to your kids...you are EVERYTHING 🖤

For lots of mums, anxiety is rife! But we don't always recognise them to be anxiety which makes them very difficult to manage.
With a hectic life, house to run, kids to look after and all the other craziness that comes with mum life, anxiety can often be in charge of our actions.

So when anxiety takes the wheel, it is a sign it is time to pause (however that may look to you). Hypnotherapy can give you the peace and calm you need as well as the tools to tackle that deeply buried anxiety and put you back in control!

Anyone else feel the struggle of switching between the two?

Emails at bedtime...work calls at snack time?

While some days I find it hard to switch straight from one the other, being intentional with time has certainly helped when it comes to being with my kids. I used to constantly think about work when I was with my kids...which at times still happens, but setting time to work and more importantly time to not work has allowed me to be more present when I'm with my girls.

And making sure I've got everything written down before I finish work let's me forget about work when I'm with them too.

Knowing I've had the time with them that they really need helps me to focus on work when I'm needed there 🖤

It is easier to focus on all the stuff that needs doing and all the things that got miss...because you were busy doing everything else that needed doing that wasn't on the to do list!

We often forget about the simple things...like a quick walk in nature.

When daily life feels too overwhelming and stressful or you can feel the anxiety building up, even half an hour in nature can change how you feel.

Last week I felt so fed up of painting the house, washing unbelievable amounts of clothes and putting away toys so we decided (while 2 of the 3 kids were at school 😬) to take the baby and go for a walk. Ten minutes from our house is a beautiful bluebell woods that we have never been to so we finally made a visit!

When I got back, the washing was still there, the painting still wasn't finished and there seemed to have been you fairies that had created more mess while we were out. However, I felt calmer, refreshed and ready to get s**t down without stressing and feeling unable to cope with it all! And I actually felt as though I had been more productive than ever!

Now feel those that don't happen to live 10 minutes from a bluebell woods, just spending time outside can really help to reset your mind. Take a break, you deserve it!!! 🖤

My Story

I trained to become a psychotherapist back in 2015 and found hypnotherapy along the way. Once I saw how hypnotherapy works to help change peoples lives, I knew I had to include it in what I do. I know work with both psychotherapy and hypnotherapy and often use them together.

Hypnotherapy is designed to work with your subconscious in order to help deal with issues such as anxiety, stress, weight loss, phobias and smoking. I like to work closely with clients in order to make their sessions bespoke individual needs.

I also work with businesses to help them ensure that they have the best corporate well-being programme for them in place. Within the corporate sector, I also offer workshops and private therapy sessions.
