I'm the calm one. The organised one. The one that holds everything together. Because I'm mum.

But sometimes I feel totally overwhelmed and overstimulated.

And we just don't talk about it enough.

Mums I talk to aren't struggling because they're weak. They're struggling because they've been too strong for too long.

The first year in a long long time we decided to go big for valentine's day. Normally it gets lost in amongst daily life but the girls were excited this year and I felt me and my other half needed some sort of break so I booked a mini spa break. And I did not feel guilty or anxious like I would have done in the past. Instead I embraced the peace and then the girls treated daddy to a valentine's day out exploring mythical creatures too!

Becoming a mum is of course the most magical thing... but this does not mean it isn't also the hardest thing. I struggle with the fact that social media often pushes the best narrative of parenting and how happy mums 'should' feel and it has certainly made me feel guilty at times for feeling stressed, overwhelmed and tired.

We live in a society where is it celebrated when mums do it all on their own - the parenting, the work, running the house, doing it all. This often leave mums feeling anxious or unable to ask for the support that is needed.

We aren't meant to do it alone. Asking for help isn't weak, quite the opposite. Anxiety doesn't make you weak.

Sometime you need to remind yourself how strong you are. We all need support 🖤

As busy mums, we don't often give ourselves any time and are usually far too busy looking after everyone else to think about our own needs. But this tends to lead to anxiety, stress and overwhelm. Taking time for yourself is so important.

Now ethically I'm not okay hypnotising my children...trust me I've thought about it 🤣
However, I work with them a lot using breathing exercises, calming techniques and visualisation.

Nothing will come close to them learning straight from you and your actions. Your child's mental health is everything. And so is yours!

Show your children you can be the calm mum you want to be...more importantly show yourself you be the calm woman you want to be.

My Story

I trained to become a psychotherapist back in 2015 and found hypnotherapy along the way. Once I saw how hypnotherapy works to help change peoples lives, I knew I had to include it in what I do. I know work with both psychotherapy and hypnotherapy and often use them together.

Hypnotherapy is designed to work with your subconscious in order to help deal with issues such as anxiety, stress, weight loss, phobias and smoking. I like to work closely with clients in order to make their sessions bespoke individual needs.

I also work with businesses to help them ensure that they have the best corporate well-being programme for them in place. Within the corporate sector, I also offer workshops and private therapy sessions.
