We've got some hot weather on the way - here are some tips for staying cool:

🥤 1. Drink up! Sip water regularly—even if you’re not thirsty.

🧊 2. Keep your home cool – Close blinds in the day, open windows in the evening. A fan and a bowl of ice = DIY air con!

👒 3. Dress light – Loose, breathable clothes and a wide-brimmed hat are your best friends.

🧴 4. Suncream matters – SPF 30 or higher, especially if you’re pottering in the garden.

🛏️ 5. Rest during the hottest hours (11am–3pm) – Save chores and outings for cooler times.

🍧 6. Eat cool & light – Fresh fruit, salads, and cold drinks go down a treat.

🚨 7. Know the signs of heat exhaustion – Feeling dizzy, confused, or sick? Move to a cool spot, lie down, sip water. Don’t wait—get help if needed.

❤️ And don’t forget: check in on older neighbours or relatives during the heat. A quick call could make a big difference.

Annually, the social care sector contributes £68.1 billion to the economy, and is vital part of Britain’s healthcare infrastructure – without it, there will be more strain on NHS services.

Be it residential care, supported living, extra-care, homecare or specialist support, our social care is vital to enable people live the life they want to live, safe and well in their own community.

The impact of the 2025 Budget is catastrophic. 1 in 5 care providers are at risk of collapse.

Let’s unite and send a clear message to government; to from the 2025 budget impacts we need £2 billion more in funding.

We all dressed up for our annual Christmas Celebration - the Senior Staff Team plus our two longest serving carers. Dinner and dancing at the Marks Tey Hotel (but still carrying the on-call phones, just in case we were needed).
