I have recently passed my exams and am now an APPI qualified reformer Pilates instructor. I'm loving every minute of using the Pilates large equipment and teaching on a 1 to 1 basis in my home studio. Reformer Pilates is really popular at the moment but I had my first lesson on a reformer 25 years ago so I know its not just a fad. The reformer and split pedal chair allow you to use all the key elements Joseph Pilates promoted - good breathing mechanics, concentration, control, precision, centering, and flow - with the addition of spring resistance to enable and challenge movements. It's great fun!

So now the training continues as I learn how to use the Pilates tower and more springs - happy days!

I love this article which embodies what happens in a smal group Pilates class. Exercising slowly and mindfully with other people, having that shared experience with no pressure to look or act in a certain way is a joy 😄and is perfect for working on the mind body connection which I really believe is key for good mental health and wellbeing. I love it!

Happy new year from Suffolk! I would like to thank everyone for your support in 2024. It's been a great year for me with some big decisions, lots of training and meeting new people. I'm super excited about 2025, maintaining and building my mat classes and continuing my journey with the Pilates large equipment - reformer, half Cadillac and split pedal chair.

Here's to lots of healthy movement and wellness in 2025 ❤️

It's been a manic couple of weeks. I have folded up my massage table for the last time. After 18 years as a clinical massage therapist it felt like the right time to move on and focus purely on Pilates. I will always be a huge advocate of soft tissue work and would like to thank everyone I have worked with over the years and hope that I've made a difference - helping in their healing journeys 🥰

So the reformer training has begun with and I'm loving it! My reformer has arrived and I now have a lovely studio full of the large Pilates equipment. I am very happy and excited!

My Pilates mat classes remain unchanged and there are a few spaces left in the Wednesdday evening and Saturday morning classes. Please DM me if you are interested.

My Story

I have been a massage therapist since 2006 and qualified as a Pilates instructor in 2017. The human body and the reasons why we can end up in pain fascinate me. Trauma, illness, postural patterns and repetitive strain can all result in acute and chronic pain. I treat a wide variety of injuries and chronic pain patterns including people with multiple sclerosis at MS-UKs Josephs Court and service men and women for Help for Heroes. By using a variety of massage techniques I help people by acting as the catalyst on their road to recovery.

Working as a massage therapist I often felt that a piece of my 'therapy jigsaw' was missing. Using massage therapy to get people out of pain has been very effective for me but keeping people out of pain can be more difficult if you are unable to address the causes. This is why I decided to train as a Pilates instructor. Pilates is a collection of exercises designed to retrain the body to use the correct muscles at the correct time; thereby correcting alignment and restoring balance. I love Pilates because it provides the scaffolding that supports your body through every day activities. Over the years I have suffered with migraines and chronic neck and shoulder pain - massage therapy has always helped me and now through Pilates I feel like I have a brand new body!
