Our manager Victoria went off for a well-deserved break in Turkey… and still came back thinking of our residents! 🇹🇷✨

She brought home lots of Turkish delight, and the residents loved trying all the different flavours 😋

🕊️ Remembrance Day at Colne House 🕊️

Today, our residents, staff, and families came together to honour and remember all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. ❤️

We spent time reflecting, sharing stories, and creating beautiful remembrance displays together. At 11am, we joined in a heartfelt minute’s silence — a moment of unity, gratitude, and remembrance.

What a Wonderful Morning 👧🏽📚👦🏼
We were absolutely delighted to welcome the children from Earls Colne Primary School today. They came to share their love of reading with us 🫶🏽 and what a treat it was.

Some of the children read aloud to a big group of residents, while others chose to sit quietly and read one-to-one. Every single one of them did a fantastic job👏🏼 Their confidence, smiles and the kindness and respect they showed were truly heartwarming.

Well done to all the children, you were brilliant! We can’t wait to welcome you back again soon.

What a wonderful day we had with our friends from Hadleigh Nursing Home 🤗
Activities Trevor joined us, along with the lovely Joy and Kay, for a fun-filled morning that began with our weekly yoga session. Afterwards, we enjoyed a few lively rounds of Hangman and Beetle Drive — plenty of laughter all around!

We then gathered in the conservatory for a delicious lunch, where Jean and Betty joined the ladies from Hadleigh for a friendly and cheerful meal together.

We had such a fantastic time and can’t wait to see you all again soon! This is the only photo we managed to capture, but it perfectly sums up a day full of joy and friendship. 🌸

🎃 Happy Halloween from Colne House! 👻

Our Halloween event was a massive success! Each year we challenge ourselves to make our events bigger and better — and this year was no exception. We’re not sure how we’ll top it next year… maybe with better weather? 🌧️ But even Storm Amy couldn’t stop us!

Our stilt walkers, fire, and LED show were absolutely amazing, and it was wonderful to see our residents enjoying the spectacle from the warmth inside. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening so special.

Now we’re counting down to our Christmas Fair on Saturday 13th December, 10am–2pm — we can’t wait to see our wonderful Earls Colne Community Page there! 🎄✨
