The sun came out, so we came out too! ☀️😄

A glorious afternoon spent by the estuary enjoying delicious ice creams 🍦 and soaking up the fresh air. We loved watching the graceful swans glide by 🦢 and admiring the rowers as they passed 🚣‍♂️

We enjoyed a lovely morning listening to gentle music 🎶 while painting beautiful spring pictures 🌸🌷 The room was filled with colour and creativity. 🌿

Yesterday a few of our lovely ladies enjoyed a fabulous afternoon out together 💕

We started with a delicious lunch — plenty of chat, laughter and a few treats — before heading off to the theatre for The Red Shoes ballet. It was absolutely beautiful, and everyone was captivated from start to finish 🩰✨

There’s something so special about getting out, sharing experiences, and making memories together — and this trip certainly didn’t disappoint. Safe to say it was smiles all round and a day very much enjoyed by everyone! ❤️

Another fabulous morning with our wonderful nursery friends 🧒👵💛

There was lots of colouring 🎨, sand sprinkling 🏖️, gluing and sticking as we created beautiful underwater scenes 🐠🐙🌊 Full of bright fish, sparkling seas and plenty of imagination!

The warmth in the room and the smiles on everyone’s faces truly said it all 😊✨ Such a joy to see the generations coming together and having so much fun! 💙

🐎🥞🥢 What a wonderful day of celebrations! 🥢🥞🐎

Not only is it Shrove Tuesday, but we were also treated to a delicious Chinese meal lovingly whipped up by our fantastic chefs!

Today also marks Chinese New Year – the Year of the Horse 🌟🐴
The Horse symbolises energy, strength, and positivity, and after today’s meal, we think that’s the perfect way to describe the atmosphere in our home!

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Chinese feast, and there were plenty of happy faces around the dining room. 😊

A huge compliment to our chefs, who received wonderful feedback from residents, families, and staff – it truly was a meal to remember! 👏🍜❤️

What a wonderful day at the home! 🥰🐾

Today we were treated to a very special visit from two alpacas, four guinea pigs, and Gordon the goat! 🦙🐹🐐

Our furry friends took a gentle stroll through the lounges, bringing lots of smiles and laughter along the way. Residents had the chance to hold and cuddle the guinea pigs — and we can confirm they were very snuggly and absolutely loved the attention! 💛

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this visit so special. Days like these bring so much joy to our home! 😊✨

❤️🌹 Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Alderwood! 🌹❤️

Today our home was filled with love, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness as we celebrated Valentine’s Day in style. The home looked beautiful, decorated with hearts, flowers, and plenty of red and pink to mark the occasion. 🌸

In the afternoon, we were delighted to welcome Gina, who came to sing for us. She treated everyone to a lovely mix of romantic favourites and timeless classic songs. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, residents singing along, and even a little dancing! 🎶

Of course, no celebration would be complete without something sweet – we enjoyed delicious cupcakes together, which went down a treat! 🧁

To finish our special day, each resident received a rose and a box of chocolates as their Valentine’s gift. It was a small token to remind everyone just how loved and appreciated they are. 🌹🍫

It was also a very special day for Joan, who celebrated her birthday! She spent the morning celebrating with her family before continuing the celebrations with us in the afternoon. 🎂💐

Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. Love truly was in the air! 💕

❤️ Today we welcomed our residents and their Valentines for a delicious 3-course lunch ❤️

The food was absolutely amazing - prepared with such care and attention to detail - and it truly made the occasion feel extra special. It was wonderful to see everyone sharing smiles, laughter, and a little romance, all set to the beautiful sound of a pianist playing in the background 🎹🌹

With roses on the tables and glasses of bubbles in hand 🥂 the room was full of warmth and love. A perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day together 💕

✨ Yesterday afternoon we were treated to a little magic here at the home! ✨

After being so fantastic at our recent charity night, we couldn’t let our residents miss out — so we welcomed the wonderful magician Danny Le Grew back to amaze us all. 🪄

And he certainly didn’t disappoint! There were plenty of laughs, gasps, and more than a few of us left scratching our heads wondering… how did that happen?! 🤔🎩

Thank you, Danny, for bringing such fun, wonder, and a touch of magic to our afternoon — it was truly spellbinding! ✨

When the skies are grey, we bring the colour our own way! 🌧️🌸

Two of our lovely ladies said they’d like to see some bright, beautiful flowers on this rainy day… so off we went to Stanway Garden Centre! 🌺🌼🌷

Surrounded by gorgeous blooms and plenty of vibrant colours, it certainly lifted our spirits — and of course, no trip would be complete without a little treat and a delicious slice of cake! 🍰☕

Rainy days don’t stand a chance against smiles like these! 💕✨

⛸️✨
After watching the Winter Olympics yesterday, we were completely amazed by the figure skating ⛸️❄️ So today, we thought… why not give it a go ourselves! Off we went to Chelmsford Riverside Ice Centre to take a spin on the ice.

We may not have been quite as elegant as the professionals 🤭 but there was plenty of laughter! A brilliant day out and great fun had by all 😄💙

Every Saturday we host our Coffee Morning, welcoming friends and family to enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our wonderful volunteer David is on hand serving a lovely selection of teas and coffees, while everyone enjoys delicious homemade cakes baked by our talented chefs. Such a special time spent together 💛✨
