Shockwave Therapy, a non surgical solution to persistent problems

Tiia is a final-year Osteopathy student with over 2yrs of experience working as a Sports Massage Therapist at Correct Osteo Clinic. Alongside her clinical work, she is an active brown belt competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and enjoys doing calisthenics too.

Wrist pain when gripping, lifting your baby, or opening jars? 🤲

This is the Finkelstein test - used to assess for De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, a common cause of thumb-side wrist pain (especially in new parents, gym goers & desk workers).

🔍 A positive test reproduces sharp pain along the thumb side of the wrist.

Good news: it’s very treatable with the right rehab, load management & hands-on care.

Trendelenbergs test.
We see lots of hip pain in clinic and this test allows us to see if the hips are weak on one side, and therefore not supporting the hips when walking, climbing stairs or turning.
The reasons can vary from tendinopathy, hip arthritis or potential nerve damage so it’s important to incorporate this test into a wider assessment.
