If you don’t know me, you probably wouldn’t guess that I’ve had a long-standing fear of boats, lakes, paddleboards—basically anything that floats.

But last week, I decided to face that fear. I got into the little boat you see in this picture and paddled around the pond. I was shaking as I stepped in—absolutely terrified—but I did it.

And it got me thinking:
How much of our fear is about real danger, and how much is our brain trying to protect us from something that feels unsafe, even if it isn’t?

Sometimes, our minds trick us into staying in our comfort zone by flooding us with anxiety right before we try something new. But often, what’s on the other side of that fear is something empowering, even joyful.

Moral of the story: the fear beforehand rarely matches the excitement that comes after we try something new. 💛

Do you ever feel like your relationship with food and your body is more complicated than it should be?

You’re not the only one.

There’s so much noise out there—diet rules, pressure to “love your body,” and silent guilt around eating. No wonder so many people feel anxious or overwhelmed about how they look or what they eat.

In my latest blog post, I unpack 5 common myths that often get in the way of real healing. From harsh expectations around body image to the shame we carry around food, it’s time to talk about it.

You deserve a kind, supportive path back to yourself.

🌸 Who Am I, Really? 🌸

Just like the magnolia tree bursts into bloom, our identities can feel like they are constantly unfolding. Sometimes, we think we have a clear sense of who we are—our values, our purpose, our direction—only for life to shake things up, leaving us questioning everything.

An identity crisis isn’t just confusion; it’s a deep emotional experience where we may feel disconnected from ourselves. It can come after a major life transition, a shift in relationships, or even in the quiet moments when we realize we don’t recognize the person we’ve become.

But just like these blossoms reach for the sun, we, too, can grow through uncertainty. 🌿💫

🌱 Here’s how to navigate an identity crisis:
✨ Pause & Reflect – What parts of your identity feel uncertain? What feels true?
✨ Explore Without Judgment – Try new experiences, revisit past passions, and see what resonates.
✨ Embrace Change – Growth is natural, even when it feels unsettling. You are not who you were last year, and that’s okay.
✨ Seek Support – Talking to a trusted friend or therapist can help bring clarity to the chaos.

Remember, you are not lost—you are in bloom. 💖🌸

As the days grow longer and the seasons shift from spring to summer, many of us feel a sense of renewal and possibility. But for some, this time of year can also bring unexpected anxiety and worry. Reaching out for counseling can be a vital step if you’re experiencing overwhelming feelings, persistent sadness, or anxiety that interferes with daily life.
It can also be beneficial if you’re facing significant life changes, such as a divorce, job loss, or the death of a loved one, and are struggling to cope.
Additionally, if you notice patterns of behavior that are negatively impacting your relationships or work, or if you’re dealing with stress, trauma, or unresolved past issues, counseling can provide a safe space to explore these challenges.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength and self-awareness, not a weakness. 🌅
