Sometimes the biggest journeys start with just one ride 🚴‍♂️✨ And for A, that journey was getting back on his bike, rebuilding his confidence, to one day cycle all the way around the local lake.

Starting off with short rides in the car park, followed by laps around the village, and lots of encouragement from his fantastic support workers, Emmanuel and Steve (who even brought in their own bikes to ride alongside him!), A has now proudly achieved that goal.

Steve shared - “The best thing about my job is supporting individuals to achieve their dreams, such as biking.”

We’re thrilled to share that Ashbury House has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Care Inspectorate Wales in their latest inspection – with words like respect, kindness, compassion, and warmth appearing throughout the report. 💛

Inspectors praised the meaningful interactions, genuine care, and homely environment created by the dedicated team. One resident shared, “I like living here and staff are always around to help.”

Huge congratulations to Service Manager Chris and the entire team for making every moment matter for the people they support👏

Across Consensus we create a culture where Health & Safety isn’t frightening, it’s actually rather fun!

Take Gretton House, their community visits from the police have plenty of people giggling when they blast the sirens to prank others, as well as posing for photos in the back of the police van 🚨

And over at Station Road, a surprise water leak (that coincidently happened as soon as Christina, our H&S Manager walked through the door… spooky!) led to handyman superman improvising a cape and coming to the rescue – yep, that is a slide sheet! 🦸

And then at Heatherington House, it was time to do their fire safety test, so what better time to showcase what you SHOULD NOT do – better keep those exits clear everyone 🧯

Learning and fun, we love to see the people we support getting involved in ensuring their home is compliant with Health & Safety regulations.

Getting up and moving can make a big difference to our mental health, and the team at Ty Hendy certainly got the memo 📝

Running for over 3 months now, every Tuesday & Friday Ty Hendy’s Fit Club gets into full swing – moving & grooving (and laughing!) with weights, cardio, and exercise, having a positive impact on both the people living there, and our colleagues too 🏋️

So, this wellbeing week, what exercise are you doing? Ty Hendy have assured us if you get the ‘Wii Music’ blasting like they do, you won’t be able to stay sat still!

Following their recent inspection, we're pleased to share 89 Hampton Road have been rated 'Good' by the CQC. Creating a relaxed environment where people are supported to achieve their goals; kindness and respect are at the forefront of every interaction at 89 Hampton Road 👏

Comments included:
⭐ People were treated with kindness and respect. We observed caring, gentle and friendly interactions between staff and people using the service.
⭐ People received person-centred care which met their needs and reflected their preferences. Relatives told us people looked well cared for and were always provided with smart, clean clothes.
⭐ Staff and relatives told us they found the registered manager approachable, friendly and helpful. We saw they led by example, supporting people and staff to have a good experience.

Well done to the team and the service manager, Steven, for leading by example and curating a warm and loving service💗

Ellie’s back in the saddle and loving every moment! After falling out of love with one of her favourite hobbies, Ellie decided to give horse riding another go - and with the encouragement of the amazing team at Ty Hendy, she’s made an incredible return🏇🏼

Not only is Ellie enjoying riding again, but she’s also challenging herself by learning to jump and developing her confidence and understanding of horse care along the way.

Area Director Lorraine shared: “To see Ellie riding again with such passion and focus makes me so proud. Well done Ellie – and well done to the Ty Hendy team for helping her rediscover something she truly loves.” 👏

Ellie’s goal is to be jumping confidently by the end of the year, and we’ve no doubt she’ll get there. Watch this space! 🌟
