✨ Have you just discovered you are 6 weeks pregnant? Congrats mama! This is what your tiny 6-week baby looks like! ✨
At just a few millimetres long, your little one is already working hard behind the scenes. This early stage is when the neural tube is forming, the foundations of the brain and spine are developing, and that incredible flicker of a heartbeat can be seen for the very first time.

They may be teeny-tiny, but so much magic is happening and witnessing these first moments is always magical 🤍🌙✨

There’s been a lot in the media recently about unqualified people performing pregnancy scans, and it’s something every parent-to-be should take seriously.

So how can you tell if your Sonographer is genuinely qualified?
It’s actually very simple.

✅ They should hold a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Medical Ultrasound from a CASE-accredited university course, it’s honestly that simple!.

✅ They should be able to show you their qualification upon request.

That’s it.
No smoke and mirrors. No hiding behind registrations, fancy-sounding titles like Midwife or Doctor, or other qualifications they may have. The only one that matters is the case accredited qualification in Medical Ultrasound ALL trimesters, this is what determines if a Sonographer is genuinely qualified (NHS experience and continued professional development are also important).

At Little Peek Baby Ultrasound, my full qualification and professional certificates are proudly displayed in the scan room because you deserve to know you’re in safe, qualified hands.

If in doubt, always ask. A sonographer will always be happy to show you their qualification and if they cannot show you that’s because they do not have one!
