πŸ‘€πŸ‘“Our visual processing assessment looks at the magnocellular visual system, which is responsible for detecting movement, changing focus, and controlling eye movement. Issues in this system may cause difficulties with; copying from the board, reading, reading comprehension, spatial awareness, hand eye coordination, short term memory, spelling, writing speed and getting ideas written down – to name just a few.
We assess a number of visual processing skills including:
β€’ Convergence
β€’ Eye tracking
β€’ Saccadic fixation
β€’ Visual memory
β€’ Visualization skills
β€’ Meares-Irlen syndrome (coloured overlays)
…. And many more
Following the assessment, you will be given a personalised home-based exercise programme to help improve skills that are found to be weak. You will also be given a full written report, including interventions to assist with learning.
If you feel like your child would benefit from a visual processing assessment, simply send us a message for more information.

The Multi-Sensory Training Centre

Multi-Sensory training can be beneficial to any child or adult who is having difficulties with literacy skills, maths, short term memory, auditory processing, concentration, balance, coordination and has poor fine and gross motor skills. What can you expect from Multi-Sensory Training?

Many people who experience difficulties in the areas outlined above are frequently found to have problems with the Movement Visual System, which is linked to other balance and co-ordination control systems within the brain.

Each assessment at the Multi-Sensory Training Centre is different, based specifically on the needs of the individual. Investigations into the following areas are possible; visual processing skills, ocular proprioception, concentration skills, auditory and visual memory, visualisation skills, visual perception, visual motor integration, Meares-Irlen Syndrome, auditory processing/listening skills, motor planning skills, bilateral integration, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, basic balance and for the retention of primitive reflexes.

A personal exercise program will be created, dependent on the individuals difficulties. All of the exercises can be carried out easily at home. For the exercises to work effectively, they will need to be done on a regular basis.
