✨ So proud of our Team ✨

We’ve been working closely with a local charity supporting families of children with Down syndrome 💛

Together, we’ve been running:
🧩 Parent–Child Interaction sessions
🧱 LEGO® Therapy
🗣️ Speech therapy
👂 Attention & Listening groups
💬 Language groups

After only a few sessions, we’re already seeing some brilliant progress and receiving such lovely feedback from families. Our group sessions are working really well, and it’s been amazing to see the children grow in confidence and communication.

Because of this success, we’re hoping to launch more groups very soon — watch this space! ✨

Since returning to work after the Christmas holidays, I’ve been blown away by the progress my children have made — sometimes that short break really does allow everything to settle and consolidate.

One particular child I’m working with using the Cycles approach has just completed Cycle 3, and the progress has been incredible. Over the course of 9 sessions, they have acquired or are clearly in the process of acquiring the following sounds:

/k, g, s, z, f, v, l/

Seeing these sounds emerge and stabilise across cycles is such a powerful reminder of why the Cycles approach works so well for children with phonological difficulties — we’re building sound systems, not just individual sounds.

All sessions were planned using my Cycles Pack, which is designed to make cycle planning straightforward, structured, and evidence-based while still being flexible to each child’s needs.

Huge credit to this child and their family for their consistency and brilliant home practice

I’m so excited to see what the next cycle brings!

I'm always a bit curious when one thing suddenly gets a lot of attention… and this month, it’s my Sound Loaded Scene Bundle.

I’ve had orders coming in from all over the UK, Australia, and the US, and I really don't know what has sparked the interest - other than, it's a great set and children engage well with the colourful and simple illustrations.

This pack has 42 colour pictures (plus 42 black & white ones) and can be used in so many different ways.

Some people use them for speech sounds, others for sentence building, or just to spark conversation. They’re also popular for barrier games, expressive and receptive language and so much more..

A child I worked with today is on his third cycle, and because he’s doing so well, we started working on the pattern ‘alveolar liquid clusters’.

Here’s what we did today with the target sound /tr/:

🧌 Throw bean bags at the Trolls and said the target word 5 times every time a troll was knocked over

🛻 Mucky trucks game from Orchard Toys. Lots of trials of our target word ‘truck’!

🌲 We decorated a Christmas tree! My little friend said ‘tree’ for each decoration he received.

📖 A book all about transport for some phonological awareness. He had to look out for all the words beginning with the ‘tr’ sound.

📦 Dots and boxes- /tr/ game given for homework . This game is always a hit! Lots of opportunities to say all of the target words while playing a fun game. (Available on my website!)

Every year Anna and I paint a bauble and decorate it marking a significant event of the year.

For me, it’s opening my first clinic, so I’ve decorated my bauble with children and speech bubbles. I’m so proud of my achievements this year, as well as the brilliant achievements of all the clients who have benefitted from support at my clinic.

Anna’s bauble celebrates her moving into her first home and beginning her first job as a Speech and Language Therapist! She left UCL with a distinction in Speech and Language Therapy and is now working in Milton Keynes in the Early Years Complex Needs team. I am so proud of her! ❤️
