👉Listening Matters
In today's fast-paced world, it's so easy to get caught up in our own thoughts and distractions, often unaware that we are not truly listening to others.
🌟Active listening goes beyond simply hearing what someone is saying, it involves being fully present, engaged, and attentive to their words, their underlaying emotions, and subtle body language.
💞Without analysis. Just presence in ‘what is’.
🧐Since every utterance carries valuable information about the emotional state of the speaker, it becomes apparent that many people do not trust that they are in a safe space to express themselves, and have come to fear judgment or interruption, criticism or correction.
😃By actively listening without interrupting or trying to solve the speaker’s problems, we can contribute to developing confidence, self-awareness, and communication skills.
🥹This is especially true with small minds. They really do need to feel safe enough to handle a wide range of emotions and be exposed to those with healthy listening skills.
☺️When we truly listen to someone, we validate their reality, experiences and emotions; the precious gift of feeling heard, understood, and valued. Super strengthening relationships, fostering trust, and building foundations for empathy, active listening is a powerful tool that can enhance relating to anyone, regardless of age or background.
🙃And you don’t have to agree with their point of view. But first off – become a great and present listener with a compassionate heart for someone else’s reality and experience, which is a great inner-work for you. Then, when you can tolerate difference with an attitude of curiosity, you can hold in mind the processes of healthy challenge. 😍
🥳So, listen up! Let’s determine to co-create a more compassionate and understanding world, one active listening conversation at a time.
