Give Kids 20 Mins of Undivided Attention? You Won't Believe This!

No distractions. No “what’s next” lists. No rules. Just being sensorially present with them. 💡

Whether it’s playing, building, or simply being silly — you step into their flow and experience the world through their eyes.

And here’s the magic: nervous system to nervous system, this simple act of presence helps children feel truly seen, heard, and connected. 🧠💛

20 minutes might feel like a lot initially — but even 3 minutes of genuine connection can create a ripple effect of calm, trust, and joy.

Have you ever been challenged on social media? How to handle criticism with wisdom...

Just one little negative comment can really derail how you feel — if you let it.

But instead of defending, what if we just said: “Hey, you’re right!”?

Chris Cummins did exactly this when he received a negative comment on one of his posts. And the outcome? Instead of an argument, the commenter replied with a love heart! ❤️

No drama. No negativity. Just peace.

It reminded Chris that we can’t control other people’s attitudes - but we can always choose our own response.

I'm not judging the mother, I have done far worse. But once you know, you know ...

Lying for likes … I just watched a video of a small child being filmed by his mum as she lied to him “I’m so sorry, I was hungry, I’ve eaten all your sweets” Right there the camera captures the emotional confusion within that little human as his mum repeatedly says “I’m sorry” the li...

"I FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO HAVE INDEPENDENT THINKING"

Once we start to label others, we abandon our REAL in-the-moment sensory information 👀 👂 👃 ✋ ; we abandon our CURIOSITY 🔎 to consider similarities as well as differences; in effect - we abandon our SHARED HUMANITY 🌍 - the ability to see ourselves in others.

Feeling ruff? Did you know that your furry friend has superhero-level healing powers?!

Here are 5 Super-Pet-Powers coming to your rescue 👉

#1 Oxytocin Boost – Stroking or snuggling our pet(s) can increase oxytocin – the 'hug hormone' – helping settle the mammalian brain's need for connection and bonding, resulting in a feeling of emotional safety.

#2 Grounding Presence – Overthinking is not an issue for these caped-crusaders. They are always living in the present moment through their primary senses. They help us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect when our minds are racing.

#3 Habits Hero – Caring for our pet(s) creates healthy daily habits, giving us a sense of purpose and emotional well-being. We get immediate unspoken feedback by noticing where attention goes and the intention behind actions!

#4 Play Power – We can boost bonding oxytocin and feel-good endorphins by walking, playing, or exercising with our pet(s)—reducing anxiety and improving our mood.

#5 Unconditional Love – Pets offer non-judgmental companionship, providing comfort and emotional safety during difficult times. You can express yourself, whisper your truths to your furmidable friend, and move away from needing a response.

🐶 Who’s your stress-busting sidekick? Drop a photo of your paw-some furry superhero in the comments — we can’t wait to see them!

❤️ Know a friend who could use some smiles today? Share this post and spread the paw-sitive vibes.

Here are 5 grooovy, mooovy, moootivational tips to get you started:

#1 Mooove Your Body 🐂 – Even light exercise, like stretching or a short walk, can boost your energy and clear your head. This will help your nervous system discharge stress, oxygenate brain, and activate feel-good endorphins.

#2 Grooove Your Mind 🎶 – Listening to music stimulates multiple brain regions, leading to a release of feel-good neurotransmitters like dopamine, which improves mood, reduces stress, and enhances pleasure. Music can also boost memory and cognitive functions, improve sleep quality, and even reduce pain by distracting the brain.

#3 Mooochas Gracias 🙏 – Start the week with a positive perspective! Practising gratitude gives the brain a 'reward of completion' with a mood boosting dose of dopamine!

#4 Amooose Yourself 😂 – Laughter really is the best medicine! Every laugh releases feel-good endorphins, while every smile sparks calming serotonin. The best part? Your joy is contagious — it lifts everyone around you!

#5 Press the Mooote Button 🤫 – Take time for quiet moments, whether it’s meditation, a mindful pause, or simply enjoying nature. Sensory presence unclogs a busy brain, calmness soothes nervous system, bringing calming serotonin to smoooth out your day!

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

Are you supporting someone who’s struggling?

Here are 6 Simple Ways You Can Help:

#1 👁️ Look and Listen – Sometimes just being present, making eye contact, and showing genuine attention and care can help someone feel seen and heard.

#2 🫶 Offer Comfort (if appropriate) – A reassuring smile, a gentle touch on the shoulder, or a hug can provide warmth and connection — AWLAYS check consent first.

#3 🗣️ Encourage Conversation – Ask open questions like “How are you feeling?” or “Do you want to talk about what’s on your mind?” without judgment.

#4 ✅ Validate Their Feelings – Avoid minimising or dismissing emotions. Phrases like “That sounds really hard” or “I’m here for you” can be powerful.

#5 🙅 Avoid giving advice – Sometimes someone is not ready to process cognitive information yet. Simply help them feel physically and emotionally safe.

#6 ➡️ Guide them to Professional Support – Encourage the person to reach out to trained professionals. Offer to help them find a counsellor, helpline, or local support service.

If you or someone you know is struggling, trained support is available 24/7:

Every moment spent with children is an opportunity to spark something extraordinary. ✨

We might not always know what’s going on in their brilliant little minds - but we do know this:
🧠 They are always learning.
💛 They are always absorbing.
🌱 And they are always growing.

Sometimes the real work looks like play, connection, curiosity and wonder - and that’s where the magic lives.

✨ Choose to live awake in this moment.
Let your senses take the lead.
Let your past teach, not trap.
Let your future be built with purpose.

🌿 When you engage your Thrive Drive, life becomes something to move through happily, gladly and with meaning.

👶🏽 Parents - listen up:
Your child is not just reacting… they are learning how the world works.
If you’re interpreting their behaviour through the lens of your own wounds, you might miss the miracle.

🔍 What you believe about your child becomes their reality.
So believe in their brilliance.
Believe in their ability to grow.
Believe in your power to guide - with love, not fear.

Separation anxiety is real - and it’s not just “in their head.” 🧠💛

To a child’s brain, being separated from loved ones can feel like danger - it’s not about logic, it’s about survival wiring.

🧠 Mammalian brain: “Stay with the pack.”

✨ The magic? Ask sensory-based questions to calm the storm:
👀 “What colours can you see?”
👂 “What sounds can you hear?”
👣 “What can you feel under your feet?”

These help the thinking brain come online and guide the nervous system to settle. 💫

Let’s support children with compassion and neuroscience.
