Tomorrow we are incredibly excited to be cheering on three fantastic runners taking part in the London Marathon, all raising vital funds for Great Oaks Hospice.
A huge good luck to Kirsty, her dad Melvin, and Billy — we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! 👏

⛳️ Crazy Golf Fundraiser for Great Oaks Hospice 🌳
Come along to a fun‑filled Crazy Golf Day in support of Great Oaks Hospice, organised by a fantastic independent fundraiser, volunteer Rich 💚
📅 Saturday 18th July�📍 Whitemead Park, Parkend�⏰ 10:30am – 5:30pm
Enjoy a round of crazy golf with family and friends while helping raise funds for a local hospice that provides vital care and support across our community.

🚲 Bike Week 2026 – Newent Loop Ride 🚲
Join us for a great summer group ride as part of Bike Week 2026!
🗓 Sunday 14 June 2026�⏰ Staggered start from 10:00am (registration from 9:00am)�📍 Starting at Newent Lake Car Park
Enjoy a 28‑mile bike ride along quiet, scenic lanes around Newent. The route is supported throughout, with a friendly atmosphere for local cyclists.
☕ What’s included?�✔ Free tea, coffee and cake at the halfway point�✔ Mobile bike mechanic�✔ Marshals at junctions�✔ Sweeper van�✔ A medal for every participant

This Sunday, the London Marathon takes place – a hugely sought‑after event and an incredible challenge for everyone taking part.
We’ve been excited to share Billy’s fundraising page with our supporters as he prepares to run the London Marathon in aid of Great Oaks Hospice.
We are also delighted to say we have now heard about two more fabulous fundraisers, Kirsty and Melvyn, who are taking on this amazing challenge to support Great Oaks and Cancer Research.
Kirsty has shared her very personal story of how our Great Oaks Hospice at Home nurses supported both of her grandparents – and were there for the whole family too. She explained how the nurses were truly amazing, ensuring her grandmother received expert care at home, just as she wished, without needing to move into a hospital bed.
“They really were amazing,” Kirsty said. “We want to raise awareness of the wonderful job Great Oaks does in our community and give something back.”
