We were so excited when we found we were successful with our Severn Trent Community Fund application late in 2024, to replace the hospice flooring. As the project has progressed, room-by-room, we have seen our hospice spaces opened up and back in use for all our regular services but also new ones, such as our weekly fitness class and men’s group.

Last week we were honoured to be included as a case study in the Severn Trent Community Fund 5th Annual Review and we just wanted to thank Severn Trent again for their support and to share the report with everyone, it really is full of the most incredible stories and community projects.

At Great Oaks, we hope to be able to ‘build’ on our new flooring and refurbish areas of the hospice to better meet the changing needs of our patients and service users in the months ahead and we hope you will enjoy coming along on our journey with us.

As we reach the end of we just wanted to share a link with everyone to our climate case study which has been posted on the Forest of Dean District Council website this week.

Through our ongoing partnership with Positive Planet and the funding we have received from Forest of Dean District Council, we have been able to keep moving forward with our future-proofing, carbon reduction plans for Great Oaks and ensure that our hospice is here for generations of our community to come.
