Day 7. Well, we have reached the end of the week of challenges. I hope you enjoyed a little bit of "Down" time. For today, please look over the week and redo any of the challenges that call to you. What do you need today? I know that the sunshine is calling for me to go outside today. Have a great weekend and I hope to see you in March in Portrush townhall.

DAY 6. I hope you are enjoying these prompts. Today we are getting a little deeper.
As spring approaches this is a time to reflect on how we cope with change. In chinese medicine, this is a huge shift, from the quiet winter energy to the thrusting of spring energy. Look at those shoots coming up.
What is changing in your life and how are you finding those changes?
Sit quietly with your candle lit. Think about the things in your life that are in flux. Where are you clinging on? Allow yourself to accept that everything changes. Be kind to yourself and send love to every part of you. Fill up with love for yourself. Stay in that love for as long as feels right.

Wow. Day 5. How has this week of small challenges been for you?
Today we are going back to the journal
Sit quietly and light your candle. Open your heart, relax and smile. Contemplate the questions and then free write for about 10 mins. Don’t edit as you write, let your thoughts flow. When you have finished, give thanks to your mind for allowing you to be free.

What 1 thing could you do that might help you achieve your goal?
You don’t have to use these questions if you have something you want to journal about.

Day 4. Where is the week going? I am enjoying these easy exercises and the reminder to spend some time with myself every day.
Today, please find a quiet spot and sit comfortably. light a candle and contemplate this lovely poem by Mary Oliver. Read it several times and then post your feelings about what it rouses within.

Every day
I see or hear
something
that more or less
kills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle
in the haystack of light.
It is what I was born for—
to look, to listen,
to lose myself
inside this soft world—
to instruct myself
over and over
in joy,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional,
the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant—
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,
the daily presentations.

Day 3. Smile and the world smiles with you. It’s the end of winter, a time when most of us are wishing for spring. Make spring happen in your heart today. Smile at a stranger. At least one and maybe at everyone you meet today. Smile from your heart. That means softening a little and meaning the smile. It’s not just a smile with your mouth, make it reach your eyes and heart. Pay attention to the effect you have on both yourself and on others with just a smile.

Find a quiet time and place. Light a candle and sit with your journal. Put your name in the centre of a page and all around, write the names of those who support you in any way. You can put places, groups, pets, anything where you are supported. Sit quietly and give thanks and gratitude for all your entries.

Day 1 of our 7 day challenge
All of these challenges are easy and it is just a matter of finding some time to really immerse yourself to get the amazing benefits of being mindful. How much of the day are we on autopilot? For the next 7 days we are aiming to spend time actually conscious of where we are and what we are doing. Bring real joy into your day. It is only when we are fully conscious that we are fully awake to the beauty of our world. Yes, there are terrible things happening in our world and often these things are what lead us to switch off as we numb to the pain. Our media filled world overloads us with information that we neither need or want. I’m not saying we should be blind to world events but counter that with some opening of your heart ♥️
Today we are going to spend some conscious time in nature. We are often sleep walking when outside. Be aware of the sounds you are hearing, look at the wonderful colours of nature, marvel at the beauty. Even if it is raining, feel the rain on your skin. I am going to spend some time in my garden, studying my snowdrops and feeling the soil in my fingers. Open your senses and let other thoughts drift past without engaging. Just for a while. As long as you want really.
