What is counselling?

Counselling can assist individuals in understanding and managing emotional difficulties, making positive changes, and improving your overall well-being.

We are troubled and saddened by the ongoing violence, domestic abuse, and coercive control at the hands of partners. We want to remind you that we are here to offer you a safe space, and to support you whether you think you might be experiencing abuse but aren’t quite sure, you’re currently in an abusive relationship and need to safely process what is happening and your options, you have escaped this kind of relationship, or you are a young person who has witnessed domestic abuse. You will be safe, and you will be believed. Our team of counsellors have a wealth of experience, both in counselling clients and in their own lives, and training in this area.

Please ring the Oasis office on 028 7034 3245. If we need to call you back, we can ring you from a withheld number and avoid using your name, to make it safer for you to access counselling.

This January, let’s scrap the New Year’s resolutions, pause, and go for a RESET instead, easing gently and purposefully into 2025. We know this can be a tough time of year - the dark mornings and cold weather don’t help! Whatever your story is, we are here to support you in your New Year Reset without pressure or judgement. You might need to find clarity or comfort in a safe space, to reflect on the past, or to work out what you really need and create a realistic plan for the future. This month we’re thinking about those for whom Christmas ISN’T the “most wonderful time of the year”... those who are grieving, caring for others, living with addiction or mental health difficulties, facing financial worries or homelessness, separated from loved ones, and those who are simply trying to survive.
