Hi, my name is Joanne Coleman and I am a certified Body Control Pilates Teacher and hold a level 3 status on the register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). My Story:
I suffered from ongoing and painful postural related neck and shoulder problems and was recommended Pilates by my husband and physio Colin (Colin Coleman, Causeway Physio). I also suffered pelvic pain and pelvic instability after both of my pregnancies; at one point not being able to walk more than 100m before it became too uncomfortable. I have now been doing Pilates for more than 11 years and have overcome each of these problems by strengthening and conditioning my body, core and posture. It has made a huge difference to my life and I cannot recommend Pilates enough for everyone! Why I trained as an instructor:
I was a primary teacher for 10years, but after having my two children (Rachel and Ben) I decided that full time teaching was no longer for me. Knowing the benefit of Pilates on my life, it was always something I was going to continue to do. I loved Pilates and I loved teaching, so in April 2016, I made my first of many trips to London and started my training with Body Control Pilates. Body control was the most comprehensive training I could find that placed equal emphasis on pilates theory, anatomy, practical skills and client assessment. My training was thorough and amongst other things included a long period of supervised teaching from the most qualified teachers before I was considered skilled enough to take my final exam and teach my own clients. I completed my qualification as a Body Control Pilates instructor in January 2017 and am now very excited to be running my own classes in Causeway Physio & Pilates! Our Pilates studio is upstairs in Causeway Physio & Pilates, Sperrin Business Park, Coleraine. Sperrin Business park is situated off the Ballycastle Road, behind Somerset Furniture and Screwfix. Types of Classes available:
• Studio Matwork & Reformer 6-7 week blocks. Booking into a block ensures a gradual progression and build of endurance, a better option if possible.
• 1-2-1s or small private studio groups
• Move It - Over 50s Exercise Class, circuits based & Physio led
