World Mental Health Day Walk

Today we took staff from The Complete Construction Company NW Ltd, The Complete Scaffolding Company NW Ltd, and a few others on a nice 2-hour trek.

The lads and ladies had some great chats and the feedback was that they really enjoyed it. Big shout-out to the management team, Luke and Sarah for letting them take the day off—that’s a solid boost for staff wellbeing.

A big thank you to Thatch and Thistle, Nelson for organising a fantastic spread for us – delicious snacks, tea, coffee and great hospitality.

Big thumbs up to a brilliant local Company for looking after their people. Here’s to more walks, chats, and wellbeing moments together.

“Mental health is not a destination, but a journey. Walking together makes the path a little clearer.”🧡

If you’d like Walk and Talk at your workplace, give us a shout. We’ll tailor a wellbeing walk to suit your team.

This evening, Maj took a group of young people from The Manchester College, King’s Trust programme, on a trek.

From Coldwell Activity Centre to The Doorway to Pendle, near Boulsworth Hill. These young people were absolutely amazed by our beautiful scenery. They took in the views and snapped lots of photos 📸. A great group with lots of good conversations. It was a perfect evening for a walk.

Thank you to Coldwell Activity Centre - Group Accommodation for this fantastic opportunity 😊

Big shout-out to Donna Michelle for conquering SAS Born Survivor — all in memory of her amazing son, Simon Walker, who we lost to mental health in 2018. WALK and TALK was born from his legacy, and Donna’s got us every step of the way.

Turning Simon’s memory into real, positive impact for our community
Donations going directly to Men Talk, Bradley Youth Club, and our walking group
We’re still proudly supporting local kids’ football teams, local boxers, and other good causes
We keep giving back because our community deserves it

If you can donate, please use the link. We appreciate every penny and every bit helps keep our programs active and accessible for everyone.

Where the money goes:
Keeping Men Talk and the walking group running
Supporting the youth club and local young people
Sponsoring local sports teams and athletes
Funding community projects and other causes we care about

Huge thanks to Donna for her bravery, and to everyone who’s already chipped in — together we’re stronger. 💪

Snowdon Trek cancellation

We’re very sorry to say that tomorrow’s Walk and Talk Snowdon Trek has to be postponed due to severe weather concerns.

What’s happening:
Weather warnings indicate 40–50 mph winds and a risk of thunderstorms.
For safety, our priority is to protect everyone—participants, volunteers, and supporters.

What this means:
Tomorrow’s Trek is postponed. We will announce a new date within the next few days.
If you’re unable to attend the rescheduled date, we will provide a full refund.

We understand this is disappointing, and we’re truly sorry for any disruption this causes. Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of Walk and Talk. We’ll update this page with the new date as soon as it’s confirmed, along with any safety considerations for future treks.

In the meantime, if you have questions or need assistance with transfers or refunds, please message us directly, we have emailed and text all who are registered. Stay safe, and we’ll be in touch soon with the updated plan.
