It’s graduation ceremony day!

It already feels like a lifetime ago since I sat my last exams and found out I’d passed my degree—but today is the fun part. Well, for some… I’m actually more nervous than I was for the exams! 😂

Today marks a day I honestly never thought I’d get to experience. University was never something I thought was achievable for me, but with the help and support of my family and good friends, I did it.

I put more than just my heart and soul into my degree—I put in three years’ worth of sleep too! I may have lost my youthful looks along the way, but it was all worth it. I’m so, so excited to be embarking on my next adventure: opening my own practice!

Just a reminder that next week is the last week of treatments available in the salon as we know it!

In the next few weeks my HCPC registration will be finalised (currently on my foot health practitioner insurance/reg) and I will no longer be able to treat in the salon as it is now…

DONT PANIC! The new treatment room will be just as inviting, tranquil and the fabulous company will obviously be just as wonderful 😂.

A lot of planning and hard work has gone into making sure that I can still offer the same vibe but as I am offering medical treatments the environment has to align with the current legislation and guidelines and rightly so.

There are spaces next week for my usual treatments but after next week the salon will be closed for a few weeks while we carry out the work. Home visits will still be available during this time.

Thanks so much for the support I’ve recieved and well wishes I can’t wait for it all to be finished so I can finally introduce the treatments ive worked so hard for for the last 4 years, every second has been worth it!

Exciting News – MSK & Biomechanical Assessments Available from August!

From August, I’ll be offering MSK (musculoskeletal) and biomechanical assessments as part of my podiatry services in my brand new treatment space!

Many of my clients have been surprised to learn that podiatrists don’t just treat nails and skin — we also assess and diagnose issues related to pain, movement, and posture in the lower limbs.

An MSK or biomechanical assessment is an in-depth look at how your feet, ankles, knees, and hips are working together. It helps identify the root cause of pain, discomfort, or changes in the way you move — whether that’s while walking, standing, or during sports activity.

If you’ve been struggling with ongoing aches, joint pain, or reduced mobility in your legs and feet, this service could really help.

Not only can I offer you a diagnosis for your lower limb problems I can also prescribe orthotics and insoles and rehabilitation exercises and stretches.

My amazing fiancé and a group of our fantastic friends are taking part in an open water swim today to raise funds for Weevolve—a truly inspiring charity based in Colne, founded by the wonderful Stuart Craig. Weevolve does incredible work empowering individuals through fitness, friendship, and vital mental health support.

The lads have put in a tremendous amount of effort training for this challenge, and I couldn’t be prouder of them all—especially my Ben. 💙

Heads Up: Temporary Closure for Refurbishment

Please note that the salon will be closed from 16th to 28th July for refurbishment.

In line with podiatry guidelines and current legislation, we’re making some important changes to ensure continued compliance and enhance your experience.

Rest assured, the treatment space will remain a tranquil, calming, and zen environment—just with a few thoughtful upgrades.

I will still be offering home visits during this period but for those that prefer to come to me for treatments I wanted to give plenty of notice to get booked in before the refurb.

🚫 CORN PLASTERS… It’s a BIG FAT NO from me!

You get a corn and think, “How can I treat this at home?”

So off you go to the chemist, find the corn plasters, and see those bold promises on the box:

✔️ Instant pain relief
✔️ Removes corns
✔️ Soothes
✔️ Soft and protective

They’re cheap, easy to grab, and sound like the perfect fix.
And honestly? Before my podiatry degree, I probably would’ve done the same.

But here’s the truth:

Corn plasters contain salicylic acid, a strong chemical that breaks down thickened skin. Sounds great in theory — but corns often form in awkward areas, and if the plaster shifts (which they often do), it can damage the surrounding healthy skin. This can lead to even more serious problems, especially for those whose healing is slower, such as people with diabetes or vascular issues. What starts as a small wound from a corn plaster can quickly turn into a serious ulcer, potentially leading to infection.

Just because it’s cheaper doesn’t mean it’s safer let the professionals take care of your corns... your feet will thank you 👣
