Residents at Colwall Care Home had a wonderful afternoon welcoming special guest storyteller Julian and his partner to the home.

The session was filled with laughter, imagination and engaging stories that brought everyone together. Residents thoroughly enjoyed listening, sharing moments together and getting lost in the wonderful tales.

A truly enjoyable afternoon for all, and we look forward to welcoming them back again soon.

Our residents had a wonderful time welcoming Helen and her lovely therapy dog, Bob

From gentle pats and cuddles to joining in during games, Bob brought so much joy and laughter to everyone he met. Visits like these always brighten the day and create so many special moments for our residents.

Residents at Colwall Care Home enjoyed a lovely afternoon of games this week, bringing out their competitive sides and plenty of smiles along the way.

We played chess, Jenga and Ludo, with some great strategy, careful moves, and a few wobbly towers! It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, cheering each other on and enjoying some friendly competition.

Activities like these are a fantastic way to keep minds active while sharing laughter and fun together.

Happy World Book Day! 📚

Residents at Colwall Care Home celebrated by sharing stories, memories and the joy that a good book can bring. Reading is a wonderful way to relax, spark conversation and revisit favourite stories from years gone by.

We’re also lucky to have a fantastic library here at the home, filled with a wide range of books for everyone to enjoy. A big thank you to everyone who has kindly donated books – your generosity helps keep our shelves full and our residents exploring new stories.

We recently enjoyed a wonderfully creative morning here at Roden Hall.

Thanks to our lovely Karen, residents were introduced to a new craft and set to work creating their own beautiful personalised notebooks. Using a selection of wallpapers and patterned papers, the ladies learned how to carefully fold the pages so each book opened just as it should.

Everyone chose gorgeous colours and designs, and there were plenty of smiles as the finished notebooks came together. A relaxing morning spent with friends, coffee and crafts – and some truly lovely results to take pride in.

We had some very special visitors at the home this week!

Helen and Bob from Therapy Dogs Nationwide came to spend time with our residents, bringing plenty of smiles, comfort, and wagging tails along the way. It was wonderful to see the joy and calm their visit brought to everyone.

We are really looking forward to welcoming them back and seeing them become regular visitors around the home. Thank you, Helen and Bob, for such a lovely visit!

We had a flipping fantastic time celebrating Pancake Day with our wonderful residents!

The home was filled with the irresistible smell of freshly cooked pancakes, as everyone enjoyed choosing their favourite toppings — from classic lemon and sugar to indulgent treats like chocolate and syrup. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter, and even a few friendly debates about the best way to enjoy a pancake!

It’s moments like these that mean so much — bringing everyone together to enjoy simple pleasures and create happy memories to cherish.
