**UPDATE**
Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS) at the West End Medical Centre.
We are delighted to announce that since the launch of the Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS) at the West End Medical Centre on the 30th April 2025, the service has experienced remarkable growth. Starting with just 10 patients, we now proudly serve 6,782 patients who have registered with their preferred pharmacy to receive their prescriptions electronically.
This milestone highlights the convenience and efficiency the EPS brings to our patients and community. If you would like more information about the EPS service, please speak to one of our receptionists or your community pharmacy, who will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.
We would like to thank our patients, staff and community pharmacies for their invaluable support in ensuring the success of this service.

**Support for Weight Loss**

You may have seen recent media coverage regarding weight loss injections. At present, this applies *only to England*.

The medication in question is available through GPs there, but only for a limited number of individuals with multiple weight-related health conditions.

Currently, there are no plans for this to be extended to Wales. As a result, GPs in Wales are not able to prescribe this medication for weight loss.

However, we are still here to support you in your weight loss journey through a range of other options, including exercise referral schemes and lifestyle support services.

The sample is tested for high-risk types of a very common virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). This virus can cause the cells on the cervix to change, and these changes can develop into cervical cancer if left untreated. Treating cell changes early means that cervical cancer can be prevented. Nearly all cases of cervical cancer are caused by HPV. If changes are found, you may need further tests or treatment at hospital.

It is still important to go for your cervical screening even if you have had your HPV vaccine.
