Waiting times: A plea for understanding.
This year Comrie medical centre has had a doctor on long-term sick leave, annual leave and a doctor about to start maternity leave.
As a result, the wait for a routine appointment has become longer than we would like and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future,
We understand - and share - your frustration, but now more than ever must work together to ensure people get the right care at the most appropriate times.
This will, in some cases, mean that patients with non-urgent problems cannot be accommodated as quickly as they would like, or previously expect to have been.

Dr Payne has asked for the following message to be posted:

"Dear All,

I am writing to let you know that I am leaving Comrie Medical Centre.

It has been such a privilege for me to be your GP and I have thoroughly enjoyed working here. I have gained as much from you as hopefully I have given; and I will miss my patients greatly. However, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and after nearly 26 years working as your GP, it is time for me to move on.
I don’t plan to retire just yet, and I will continue to work with the department of Dermatology at Perth Royal Infirmary; and with the Tayside Out of Hours Service. I may also take on some locum work in general practice.
I am very sorry not to be able to say goodbye properly to all the patients who I know best - but I will try to contact as many of you as possible before I leave.
I am extremely proud of the wonderful team at the medical centre and the excellent care that we have provided since I moved to Comrie in 1999. We have always endeavoured to put the patients first and as I leave, I hope that ethos will continue.
With my thanks to all of you for your support and kindness.
My very best wishes,

Dr Ronnie Payne"

Merry Christmas from all at Comrie Medical Centre!

GP surgeries are closed from 25-26 December and 1-2 January. If you have a non-urgent health issue over the festive holidays, please wait until your GP surgery reopens or contact a local community pharmacy. Pharmacies can provide advice, support and treatment for minor ailments such as a cough, cold or sore throat, stomach complaints, or aches and pains. You can check pharmacy opening times at https://tinyurl.com/mpn84346

www.nhsinform.scot also offers a quick and easy way to find answers to most common health questions, and includes symptom checkers.

If you think you need A&E, but it’s not life-threatening, call NHS 24 on 111 day or night.

If it’s an emergency, you should call 999 or go to A&E. Please do not attend A&E with a problem that you would normally see your GP with. This will allow A&E to concentrate on patients with emergency conditions.
