Breathwork is, in my experience, the most profound process for self healing and spiritual awakening that I have encountered. What's more, it is accessible to everybody who wants to learn - we all breathe. So you have this incredible, powerful, insightful, empowering healing modality with you all the time. Learning to journey with the breath gives access to your own sense of divinity. It gives you

a stronger connection to that aspect of experience we may call spirit. Allowing this to inform your way of living in the here and now of our daily lives gives rise to the miraculous. I teach Conscious Connected Breathing as I believe it to be one of the most practical and applied processes we can use to grow spiritually within the context of our everyday lives. It's a way of moving deeper into our experience - not trying to 'transcend' it. We are here to experience life, to be in a body and to be present to the beauty of life in all its forms. When was your first time…

I’ve had so many people tell me that they found breathwork really uncomfortable or even scary. They had one session and it put them off completely. It was too pushy, too intense - ‘no pain no gain’
When I first started that’s how I thought it had to be too. How can breathwork possibly work if it’s not intense?

But often our need for intense experience is a trauma response. Because when you’ve experienced trauma you feel numb. And feeling something, anything, can be better than feeling numb.

That’s definitely how it was for me. I had a strong need for intensity in experience just to feel. But I also had a sense that there was another way to approach breathwork. A way that really allowed me to explore what was happening in my body, at a subtle level.

It took me three separate trainings and many, many years of working with the breath to truly learn that it really doesn’t have to be intense to be effective - although it can be.

I now know that breathwork can also be subtle, it can be gentle - and still work.

Working gently, kindly, lovingly towards ourselves can be hugely transformative.

Because we all know how to work hard and push. Our culture demands it. But it’s not the only way.

So be kind to yourself.

You don’t necessarily need fireworks to create change in your life.

Choose your response….

You may not be able to control what’s happening in the world, or even your feelings about it.

But what you can change is your breath.

Choosing how you breathe is choosing how you meet the world.

It’s fundamental. It’s a choice.

You can surrender to fear and anxiety and breathe shallow.

Or you can meet the work with a full breath that says ‘no matter what, I choose to be here’
Don’t let the events of the world diminish you.

Breathe fully. Show up. Be here.

Hi all.

Over the last year and a half I have been noticing just how much anxiety and stress is around for folks. It occurred to me that really, it's hardly surprising giving the multiple challenges we are facing as a species on wonderful planet earth. My own take is that we are under a lot of pressure to change how we are living and rebalance our whole relationship to the natural world.

It's not going to come from just re-arranging the furniture (aka COP26 perhaps!)

We need to come up with a whole new story for how we can live in a better way. That story must come through each of us as we let go of old patterns and become alive to our own true self as part of nature. To feel good about being here and what we bring.

Breathwork is one way of helping us release ways of being that no longer serve us and to find a way of being that we feel good about.

More grounded, more balanced. more at peace and more present.
