Yesterday, here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton we marked World Food Day with a fun and flavour-filled celebration! We kicked things off with a global Food Quiz, followed by a selection of nibbles from around the world.

A big congratulations to our quiz winners: Joan, Audrey, and Ursula! Your food knowledge was seriously impressive.

We’re so proud to be part of such a wonderful and caring community!
Our incredible residents Dallas and Pat and lovely ladies from thee local community Pat Triner and Jo Brooks from local U3A have come together to knit beautiful baby hats for the tiniest members of our society.
These handmade hats were recently donated to the maternity and neonatal unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital, where they’ll help keep newborn babies warm and cosy from their very first moments.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave their time, care, and creativity to support this lovely initiative. Your kindness truly makes a difference.

On Monday, our residents had a wonderful time at Glebe Farm Astbury— meeting the animals, enjoying the fresh air, and sharing stories over tea and cake.🍰🫖

A big thank you to the team at Glebe Farm for such a warm welcome — we’re already looking forward to our next visit!😊

Last week, a handful of our head chefs took a trip to The Bertinet Kitchen Cookery School for a bread-making class with the marvellous Richard Bertinet himself! 🥖

Richard led a wonderfully informative class and provided our chefs with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills. As you can see, they produced some delectable loaves, tarts and rolls, which they are already looking forward to recreating for our residents!

Yesterday we hosted a here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton, and it was such a lovely day!
Residents, families and friends all came together to share yummy cakes, warm drinks and plenty of smiles—all while raising money for a great cause.
Big thanks to everyone who popped in, donated, or helped out. Your kindness means so much and will help Macmillan Cancer Support continue their amazing work.
