Today, Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton joined forces with Jackie and Liz from East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise and Sarah and Carol from West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce and were proud to support BBC DIY SOS: BBC Children in Need , helping the wonderful The Joshua Tree, which provides support for families affected by childhood cancer
With love (and plenty of teamwork!), our chefs and their team baked a selection of delicious cakes, which were delivered to the hardworking workforce on site by our Client Services Manager, Adriana.

It was truly heartwarming to see the progress and to witness how powerful it is when communities come together for such a worthy cause. We can’t wait for the big reveal!

Here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton, we have begun collecting canned goods and long-lasting food items as part of our Harvest celebrations.

All donations will be passed on to the local food bank, helping support individuals and families in our community.

This afternoon was filled with excitement and joy as we welcomed two very special visitors to our home – Elsa and Little Man, the adorable ponies from Lollipop Pony Parties!

Our lovely residents and dedicated staff were completely smitten by the gentle charm and sweet nature of these beautiful ponies. From soft nuzzles to big smiles, hearts were truly stolen today – and we wouldn't have it any other way!

A huge thank you to Lollipop Pony Parties for bringing such a magical experience to us.

What a lovely day we had yesterday at our Summer Garden Party! The sun was shining, the garden was full of laughter, and we were so pleased to welcome Deputy Town Mayor Cllr Suzy Firkin and Cadet Haru Pepper along with so many friends and residents.

Jenny’s beautiful singing set the perfect mood, and Bill from Potteries Auctions kept things interesting with free valuations of everyone’s attic treasures!

Our tables looked stunning with flower arrangements made by our residents, and the delicious food and drinks were all thanks to our fantastic catering staff.

A big thank you to everyone who made the day so special !

Yesterday, our wonderful residents here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton were busy preparing beautiful flower arrangements for the tables at our Summer Garden Party on Bank Holiday Monday.

On Thursday our residents and staff enjoyed a lovely Scrabble afternoon here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton coming together for a relaxing and engaging game session.

It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to challenge their minds, share some friendly competition, and enjoy each other’s company. Conversations flowed, words were formed, and there were plenty of smiles all around.

This morning, we had the pleasure of a visit from a representative of the Macclesfield Community Sports Trust, who spent time with our residents delivering a fantastic range of games and activities.

The session brought lots a wonderful boost for both body and mind!

Over the years, Diane has worked in various departments across our home, always bringing dedication, kindness, and a big heart to everything she does. Currently, as a night care assistant, she continues to be a huge asset to our team and a shining example of compassion in care.
