We had a wonderful time celebrating Burns Night here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton! Our residents enjoyed a lovely whisky celebration and tucked into traditional Burns Night favourites, bringing a true taste of Scotland to the home.

It was a day filled with great food, good company, and plenty of smiles as we marked the life and poetry of Robert Burns together. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special

We loved welcoming residents from our sister home Haddon Hall Care Home, Buxton at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton this week.

It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, friendly competition during a game of bingo, and a delicious lunch enjoyed together.

These visits mean so much to our residents – a great chance to make new friendships, reconnect, and share special moments. We’re already looking forward to the next visit!

Our activity coordinators are great at getting to know our residents and providing activities that are tailored towards their individual interests, ensuring everybody has the opportunity to do what they love.

Today we marked here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton, and it was a real treat for everyone!

Residents enjoyed a delicious selection of cheeses during the afternoon, sampling a variety of flavours and textures. It was a lovely, relaxed social occasion filled with smiles, conversation, and of course plenty of cheese tasting. A big thank you to our team for making the afternoon so enjoyable for our residents.

We know how important it is to stay connected with those we care about, so every day at 3pm our team members pause what they are doing to spend one-on-one time with our residents. Whether going for a walk in the garden, playing a game of chess or enjoying a simple cup of tea, these moments of connection are beneficial for everybody.

This week, our residents here at Astbury Mere Care Home, Congleton enjoyed a lovely visit from Di and Bee from Therapy Dogs Nationwide.
It was heart-warming to see the joy Bee’s visit brought, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Our residents enjoyed a lovely visit to Bents Garden & Home in Warrington, yesterday. They had a great time browsing the beautiful displays, enjoying the fresh air, and relaxing together over a cup of coffee. A truly enjoyable outing for everyone!
