Keeping up with the news! There is always a story to chat about and a picture to reminisce over. A meaningful activity that is good for wellbeing and has intellectual benefits.

Handclapping number 2! Gentle movements to songs recognised by our residents. Toe tapping, hand clapping, waving, dancing and even singing our hearts out. All focusing to create a positive and engaging experience through music 🎶

We had a newcomer to our home to sing yesterday, Mawgan Stott. It was lovely to see our residents and staff really enjoying themselves as old songs we all know and, some refreshing new songs were sung. It is exciting to have Mawgan join us at the Elms and really looking forward to hearing some Jazz and Swing from her, for our Summer Party on the 9th of August! 🎶

Feeling hot hot hot! 🔥 🥵 😋
99 fruit kebabs, (I dropped one)! were made for our residents and staff. Refreshing watery fruits consisting of, strawberries, watermelons, grapes, pineapple and cucumber. Along with jugs of juice with chopped fruit segments, everyone enjoyed something. Thinking of different ways to keep everyone hydrated in these hot temperatures.

National chocolate day was combined with some music from Dave 'Busker' Harris with his Ukelele, harmonica and accordion. We got inspirational and made rice krispie cakes with marshmallows and chocolate and it didn't take long for them to disappear! The smell of the chocolate as we mixed the ingredients together was very rich. Tubs of chocolates were enjoyed with many smiles as we read poems about chocolate, reminisced with old pictures of Woolworths and the excitement of going there to choose all our favourite chocolates from the colourful pick and mix. After the music, we carried on with wordsearches and what our favourite chocolate brand was. Cadburys came out top! 😋
