Hi. I’m Carlee and I have imposter syndrome! 😆
It’s been a year since I qualified as an Ayurveda lifestyle and nutrition consultant, and I finally feel ready to offer consultations. I have gone back and forward on whether or not to do this but I have chosen to ignore the imposter syndrome because I know I can help people with this.
My way isn’t the traditional Ayurveda way because I have studied many things, not just professionally. I have done over a decade of personal study on nutrition and looked at many different aspects of it. I also have the same amount of personal experience healing myself. This has helped me come to the conclusion that science is always evolving so we need to keep an open mind when new evidence is presented to us.
Let me tell you a little bit about Ayurveda and what an Ayurveda consultation with me would entail…
Ayurveda translates as “Science of Life”. It's also a sister science of Yoga.
It’s an ancient healing practice which focuses on bringing the body back into harmony and balance. Although it’s ancient, it’s a set of principles which makes it a timeless practice. I’ve came to realise that we can follow the Ayurvedic principles, whilst also incorporating modern science.
The Ayurvedic way is not a diet or a temporary “fix”. It’s a lifestyle, a way of living in harmony with the natural cycles of the earth.
We have lost our way and our connection to nature. Ayurveda uses science backed knowledge and practices to help bring us back into balance.
This isn’t for anyone who is looking for a quick fix, it’s for those who’re ready for change. Healing is a lifelong journey and we have to be patient with ourselves, but once you learn the basics, you will have the tools to know how to heal yourself.
During an Ayurveda consultation, we will dive deep into your health concerns, personality, background, lifestyle, emotions and more. Then I will come up with a personalised diet and lifestyle plan to suit you. This can be done in person or online, over FaceTime.
The aim is to go slow and incorporate these new habits gradually. We can meet up again after a few weeks to discuss your progress and make any necessary changes.
A lot of the practices that are taught today are Ayurvedic based, most people just don’t realise. For example: getting light in your eyes on a morning to regulate the circadian rhythm, tongue scraping, oil pulling, body brushing and breathwork - to only name a few.
