Homecare clothing visited Rosemount today hosted by Paul and Sandie 👖👗👕

Residents and staff had great fun looking through all the beautiful clothes and treating themselves to some new outfits.

A special mention goes to Alan, one of our wonderful family members, who kindly modelled one of the outfits for us - and we have to say, he wore it very well! 😊

What a fantastic afternoon we had today with our singer Pete! 🎤 🎶

Residents were up on their feet dancing and singing and the room was full of high spirits. 💃🏼 🕺

Pete had us all enjoying classics from The Beatles, ABBA, Neil Diamond and even some popular
Eurovision favourites - so Thank you Pete for another wonderful afternoon of entertainment at Rosemount 💙

We have now set up a just giving page for our sponsored walk to help raise funds for Rosemount.

Any donations, big or small, would be hugely appreciated and will help us continue making Rosemount a warm, comfortable home for our residents.

On Saturday 12th June our amazing staff will be taking on a 12 mile sponsored walk from Consett to Lanchester and back. We're raising money for our renewals and restoration fund.

Here at Rosemount we had a paws-itively brilliant day! A visit from dancing dogs Molly and Drew!

The residents and staff absolutely loved
watching their amazing moves... although we're not sure how the staff feel now they've officially been out-danced by two dogs!

Thank you Moll and Dru for such a fun afternoon and for bringing so many smiles to Rosemount - everyone throughly enjoyed it!

Did you know that here at Rosemount Care Home we don’t just have one centenarian… we have THREE incredible residents aged 100 and over! 🎉

🌟 John and Teresa are 100 and Betty is an amazing 101 years young! 🌟

What an honour it is to have such wonderful residents with so many stories, memories and life experiences between them ❤️

Just think about everything they have lived through…
📻 They were born before television was in most homes
✈️ They saw the very first commercial flights become normal travel
👑 They have lived through the reign of five British monarchs
🌍 They witnessed World War II, the moon landing, colour TV, the invention of the internet and smartphones!

Some amazing things from around the time they were born:
📚 Winnie-the-Pooh, The Great Gatsby and Mrs Dalloway were newly published books
🎬 Charlie Chaplin was one of the biggest stars in the world and silent movies filled the cinemas
🚗 Cars were only just becoming more common than horse and carts
📻 The BBC had only recently begun radio broadcasting
📺 John Logie Baird gave the first ever demonstration of a television
💷 A loaf of bread cost just a few pennies

Between them they have seen over a century of history, change, love, laughter and memories — and we feel very lucky to share part of their journey here at Rosemount ❤️
