Devastated and heartbroken. They are 2 of the words that can describe how I am feeling at the moment. There are more.

This plaque has been stolen from a grave at Seven Pennies. Nothing like this has ever happened before or since. It went missing in September this year.

To think that someone could steal off a grave leaves me without words. And if I am feeling like this then imagine how Nigels partner is feeling right now.

If anyone knows anything about this then please either let us know or put it back where it belongs.

Please share and let's try and get Nigel his plaque back.

There's a lot to love here at the moment. Beautiful grasses and wildflowers everywhere. We seem to have a resident hare too, although it hasn't posed for a photo yet!

Seven Penny Meadow incorporating GO AS YOU PLEASE

Our own natural burial ground, independently owned and run by GO AS YOU PLEASE https://www.facebook.com/goasyoupleasefunerals

Established in 2001, our natural burial ground, Seven Penny Meadow, is located in an idyllic hilltop position with breath-taking views across the Derwent valley; close to Hamsterley Mill and Medomsley in County Durham.

Natural burial is a term used to describe the burial of the deceased in an area which creates new habitats for wildlife (flora and fauna) or preserves existing habitats. At a time when municipal and church cemeteries are running out of space and there are environmental concerns over cremations; natural burials offer an alternative which is environmentally friendly, whilst having the long-term benefits of giving back to nature and creating public green spaces.
