It wasn’t all a work based trip in Manchester! I took some very much necessary me time too and explored the art galleries and museums. I always find them so soothing. I treat myself to a massage also.

Taking a much needed breather from the trade show today as it’s over run with students and I’m struggling to even reach stands to look at products or brands! I can’t actually get near to buy anything. Absolute chaos.
I’m actually worried I’ll come home empty handed

There’s nothing more frustrating than leaving your wax appointment with silky smooth, skin only suffer ingrown hairs a couple of days later.
Ingrowns can appear after hair removal as the new hair gets trapped underneath the surface of the skin.
Regular waxing results in thinner, finer hair growth, YAY!😁However, this can also make it harder for the hair to emerge from the skin, leading to ingrown hairs. Don’t worry though, there is plenty that you can do to treat or avoid them.

EXFOLIATE - EXFOLIATE - EXFOLIATE.

Exfoliate the area 2 -3 times a week, this will remove the dead skin cells, helping the new hair to push through the skin as it grows. for this, because it’s super moisturising in addition to exfoliating. It’s my personal go to for ingrowns and that awful dry patch of skin that randomly appears on my knees.

DO NOT PICK or SQUEEZE ingrown hairs as this can damage the surrounding area and also leave it open to infection.

An anti-bacterial wash or moisturiser can be beneficial in the first couple of days after waxing or shaving as it will keep the area clean and infection free.
Moisturising the skin daily also helps as it softens the skin and makes it easier for hairs to push through without causing problems. (Another shout for )

In addition- exfoliate your skin a couple days prior to your waxing appointment to free up/loosen any hairs under those dead cells to give a cleaner result and help prevent hair breakage. NEVER on the day of your wax, this will lead to increased sensitivity and irritation of the skin.

While aftercare will alter with every individual and different types of massage, this is a good rule of thumb! I will however, give specific exercises and aftercare to each person on their visit.
