Does tinnitus ever feel louder when everything is quiet — especially at night?
What I often see is that the sound itself isn’t necessarily changing.
It’s more about how the brain is relating to it.
When something becomes more “noticed” or monitored, it tends to stay in awareness.
This is where habituation comes in — not about making it disappear, but about the brain learning it doesn’t need to keep focusing on it.
