✨ Exciting news ✨
Tomorrow and Saturday I’ll be completing my hands-on Scar Practitioner training as part of my practice as an HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.

Scars tell a story, but they can also impact daily life in ways many people don’t realise. Through gentle, specialist hands-on techniques, occupational therapists can support scar recovery by:

💫 Improving mobility and range of movement
💫 Reducing tightness, pain or sensitivity
💫 Supporting healing after surgery, injury, or trauma
💫 Helping you reconnect with your body and regain confidence

For example:
👶 After a C-section, scar therapy can ease pulling sensations, improve comfort when moving or lifting your baby, and support postnatal recovery.
🎗️ After oncology surgery, scar therapy can help restore function, reduce restriction across joints or the chest wall, and improve ease in everyday activities.

Occupational therapy brings a unique perspective — blending clinical skill with an understanding of how scars affect not just the body, but daily function, wellbeing, and quality of life.

This new service will sit under my The Scar & Pelvic Health OT offering, part of Restful Beginnings — supporting women’s health and recovery with compassion and specialist skill.

Hello!

I'm Ceridwen a specialist maternal occupational therapist for pregnancy, postnatal recovery, and mental wellbeing. Blending expert OT with gentle holistic therapies like breathwork and sound to support and nurture you through every stage of motherhood so you really live and not just exist.

I use individual exercise programs and pelvic health support to help keep your body strong in pregnancy, ready for birth be it vaginal or caesaean section and to help you recover postnatally. Experienced in all things function and a mum of 3 myself I know the highs and lows of motherhood and that loss of identity that can occur.

I am training in scar therapy and sports massage to add to my offer and aim of being all you need in every stage of motherhood.

I will soon be bringing you a really exciting new program designed to support you through pregnancy and beyond and will be looking for 5 women to try it out and feedback. If this sounds like you, please drop me a DM!

🏁 Exciting News 🏁

I’ve just completed my Pre & Postnatal Coaching certification with Girls Gone Strong! After a break in the middle to regroup myself, a super early start with determination this morning saw me finish it! I have really loved this course.

As an Occupational Therapist, this training means I can offer a truly holistic approach to supporting women through pregnancy and postnatal recovery.

What this qualification has given me:

💪 Knowledge to design safe, effective exercise programs for pregnancy and postpartum

🤰 Understanding how to adapt movement for pelvic floor concerns, diastasis recti, C-section recovery, and changing energy levels

🍼 Tools to help women rebuild core and whole-body strength in a gradual, sustainable way

🌿 Strategies to support physical health and mental wellbeing in the context of daily life and motherhood

🧩 Confidence to blend exercise coaching with OT skills around sleep, fatigue, routines, and emotional health

This means I can now support women with not only recovery and wellbeing, but also with safe return to movement, strength, and everyday life after pregnancy. 💜

The one stop shop for all things pregnancy and postpartum!

This weekend was a sacred pause.
A space to soften, to heal, and to release some quiet emotions I hold inside, known only to me.

Held by nature’s elements and an unshakable sisterhood, I returned to myself.

Not becoming someone new — but strengthening the woman I already am.
The one who’s done the deep work.
The one who now chooses peace, softness, and truth.

🌿 I am grounded.
🌙 I am whole.
🔥 I am ready for what’s next.

Much like the air I breathe, retreats have become a necessity to keep me topped up with love and gratitude. My gift to myself, without judgement or guilt. Surrounded by a tribe of women that accept me, just as I am, and I love that so much ♥️ 🙏
