Weavers House Weavers House is a modern, purpose built care home situated in Cookstown, overlooking the beautiful Sperrin Mountains.

This light and spacious setting provides professional, person-centred care for older people, including those living with dementia. Our accommodation offers a safe and homely environment, where up to 65 residents each receive kind and compassionate attention around the clock. The professional team at Weavers House are highly-trained to respectfully and effectively meet the needs and wishes of every individual residing with us. Our whole team approach to wellbeing means that everybody feels part of our lovely, welcoming community. All our private bedrooms are fully-furnished, with the benefit of en-suite facilities. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space and make it their home. Our homes are designed to enable residents to be as independent as possible, with the assistance of 24 hour care on hand. We truly listen to our residents’ individual needs and wishes and follow their bespoke care plans, providing care with the utmost dignity and respect, for a happy and fulfilled later life.

Today was my last day as Manager at Weavers 💔

This journey hasn’t always been easy, but no matter what we faced, I stayed strong for my residents and my staff ,because you all meant so much to me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to my incredible staff, my wonderful residents, and all the families. Your kindness, support, and trust have meant more to me than words can ever express.

Being Manager at Weavers hasn’t just been a job it has been my home for over six years, filled with memories I will carry with me forever. Weavers will always hold such a special place in my heart.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but I leave with so much love and gratitude. Thank you all my staff, residents, and families for everything, truly 💕

On Friday Leslie came downstairs to visit the manager, Gabriela, and asked her to leave her hat with him over the weekend so he could wear it, promising to take good care of it. 🥰

He also received some treats, as he always does from the office.🥰

On Monday morning, our housekeeper Gillian came with Leslie to return the item to Gabriela. As he had promised, he took good care of her accessory. 👒🥰❤️

Today we celebrated International Employee Appreciation Day 2026 with a small gesture from management a lunch from McDonald’s for our amazing staff.
As we all know, working in healthcare is a very demanding role. However, our team continues to go above and beyond every single day, showing dedication, compassion, and professionalism in everything they do.
The photo only captures a few faces, but behind it stands a wonderful team of over 60 employees who work tirelessly to support and care for others.

Busy day for our kitchen team today and what a fantastic job they did! 👏💛

The ovens were on full power as we baked:
🍰 Almond cake
🍫 Chocolate cake
🍒 Fifteens (those delicious biscuit and cherry treats!)
🫖 Fresh scones with raspberry and a chocolate drizzle on top

Everything made with care, teamwork, and a whole lot of passion.

Our chair arm exercise sessions are always full of energy you can even hear the movement all the way down to the office rooms! 😄

The residents love staying active, having a laugh, and cheering each other on. And of course, the fresh drinks afterwards are a firm favourite and very well earned! 🥤✨

Santa paid us a very special visit, and our residents enjoyed every single minute of it. The smiles on their faces made our day, and the excitement throughout the room was wonderful to see 🎄🎅🎄🎅❤️🎅🎄❤️🎄🎅❤️🎄🎅❤️🎄🎅

Our residents were delighted with the beautiful gifts and very much looked forward to enjoying the amazing food prepared for the celebration.
