Meet Tina…

Now, I know you all love the stories behind my wig names, so here’s a good one!

This piece is named after another lovely lady from Little Learners… although the story behind the name actually goes a little deeper than that.

The Tina this wig is named after is somebody I remember from my childhood as one of my mum and dad’s friends. Then, when I was around 15 years old, I unknowingly ended up doing two weeks of work experience at the pre-school Tina ran at the time!

When I left, she wrote me the most beautiful thank you card telling me I was the best student she’d ever had and to remember her when I owned my own nursery one day.

And here we are 🄹

Around 12 years ago, Tina came for a job at Little Learners and made a beautiful, albeit a tad crazy, addition to the team! 🤪

Then more recently, while searching for the perfect wig for , I showed Tina this colour and explained that it was brand new, hadn’t yet launched and didn’t even have a name… although I had been considering calling her Tina.

At that point, it all just felt meant to be!

As for the wig itself…

Tina is a soft, dimensional medium brown with beautiful fine highlights, creating a seamless, multi-tonal finish that feels incredibly natural and easy to wear.

She is currently available in:
✨ A luxury 18ā€ Band Fall Wig in a small cap
✨ A Signature Collection Pixie in a medium cap

And as always, she can also be custom ordered in any length or cap size, as well as being one of a smaller collection of colours available within both my Signature Collection and Luxury and regular Band Fall Wig range.

What do we think?

Trying to navigate it alone nearly did.

The endless Googling.
The false hope.
The comments from people who didn’t understand.
The feeling that nobody was really talking honestly about what it does to you emotionally.

When I first started losing my hair, I didn’t just need solutions… I needed support.

I needed somebody to tell me I wasn’t dramatic, vain or alone.

Because hair loss changes so much more than just your appearance.

It changes how you see yourself.
How you show up in the world.
How safe and confident you feel in everyday moments.

That’s why Loss 2 Lace was never just about wigs for me.

It was about creating the kind of support I wish I’d had when I was struggling the most.

A safe place.
Honest conversations.
No judgement.
No pressure.
No false promises.

Just someone walking beside you who understands. šŸ«¶šŸ»

Think wig wearing means suddenly having long, thick, glamorous hair?

For a lot of women, especially those who haven’t had long hair for years (or even ever had it), that can make wigs feel intimidating straight away.

Because if every wig you see feels too much like someone else, it’s hard to imagine yourself wearing one at all.

That’s why I created my Signature Collection:
Timeless shorter styles.
Soft, realistic densities.
Easy everyday wear.
Pieces designed to feel elegant, natural and familiar.

Because sometimes confidence doesn’t come from transformation…it comes from recognition šŸ«¶šŸ»

And another thing I felt strongly about? Making luxury human hair feel more accessible.

The Signature Collection sits between £525-£575, because I wanted women to have access to beautiful quality human hair wigs without needing to jump straight into four-figure pricing.

A good first wig should feel wearable, comfortable and like you… not like you’re playing dress up.

And honestly?
Short styles deserve far more love than they get ✨

My Signature Collection is currently available exclusively through consultations - either in person or online.

A consultation with me is gentle, safe and completely pressure-free. There’s no expectation to buy; it’s simply a space to explore, ask questions and feel supported.

Where possible, I’ll always recommend an in-person consultation, because trying pieces on and being guided face-to-face can make such a difference especially when you deserve to feel truly held through the process.

Fun Friday film time again šŸŽ¬šŸ¤£

But this week’s comes with a little extra on the side…

Because while we’re quoting iconic films, we’re also talking about one of the most over-obsessed wig topics on the internet šŸ‘€

If you’re new to wigs, knots are the tiny little dots you see where the hair is tied into the lace.

Some brands bleach them to make them appear lighter and less visible.

But honestly?

I choose not to bleach most of mine… and here’s why.

Firstly, I genuinely don’t think most wigs need it.

People are not standing inches away from your scalp staring at your part line the way you stare at it in the mirror.

And ironically, I often see badly bleached knots that catch my eye far more than unbleached ones šŸ‘€ And the bleaching process can weaken the knots and lace, leading to increased shedding and reduced overall lifespan of the wig.

There are also so many ways to soften the appearance of knots without bleaching:
āœ”ļø lighter face framing pieces = naturally lighter knots at the hairline
āœ”ļø strategic styling and/or fringes
āœ”ļø knot blurring pens
āœ”ļø powder foundation
āœ”ļø simply stepping back from the mirror šŸ˜…

There’s no right or wrong, just personal preference.

One thing I’ve found really interesting during consultations is this…

A lot of women don’t even notice the knots until I point them out.
And many genuinely ask:
ā€œā€¦wait, that’s what everyone worries about?ā€

Especially my cancer ladies.
Because they haven’t spent years deep in hair loss spirals, they often see the overall look of the wig first and not tiny technical details.

And I think when you’ve lived through hair loss, insecurity and the fear of wigs looking ā€œwiggy,ā€ you can become hyper-fixated on every tiny thing.

I used to be too.

But now?
Frankly, darling … I don’t give a damn!

Extensions have become so normalised.
They’re often the first thing we reach for when our hair starts to change.

And for many women, they work.

But they’re not the only option anymore.

Because wigs…
are essentially extensions from the scalp.

And the difference now?
They can look incredibly realistic.
Natural hairlines.
Soft movement.
Worn glueless, day to day.

For a lot of women, extensions feel like the safer, more confident choice in the beginning…
even if they don’t quite give the coverage they’re looking for.

But over time, that’s where things start to change.
And wigs often become what they feel most confident in.

Not because wigs are ā€œbetterā€ but because they can offer something different.

More coverage.
More versatility.
More freedom.
Less damage to your hair.
And for many… a level of confidence they haven’t felt in a long time.

The conversation is shifting. More and more women are not only just seeing this, but are choosing wigs.

And if you ever find yourself in that in-between where what used to work doesn’t quite feel right anymore… you’re not alone in it.

My consultations are a safe place to start if you are curious. šŸ«¶šŸ»

This might be a controversial opinion… but wigs are better than a hair transplant.

And I should know - I’ve tried both!

A hair transplant was up there with one of the most traumatic things I’ve ever gone through. The surgery itself, the emotions, the shock loss, the endless waiting game hoping and praying it would work… and then the crushing reality when it didn’t. Even if it does work, it will never give you the instant density, length or versatility that wigs can. And let’s not forget - it isn’t a cure. You’re tied to a lifetime of ongoing treatments like medications and PRP just to try and hold on to the hair you’ve got left.

If you’re considering a transplant, please, please do your research. Make sure your hair loss is isolated to one area and that your donor area is strong. Get multiple opinions on your suitability. I didn’t. I trusted one clinic, wasn’t properly assessed and ended up with a failed transplant.

And the cost? Especially here in the UK… you could buy yourself a gorgeous selection of premium wigs for the same price or less!

Wigs give you fabulous hair every single day with minimal effort. But it’s not just about hair. Wigs give you back your confidence, your femininity and your freedom to actually enjoy life without constantly worrying what your hair is doing.

Would I prefer beautiful natural bio hair? Of course. We all would. But if I could go back in time, I would choose wigs over the transplant in a heartbeat.

Wigs felt daunting at first but the thing I resisted the most has turned out to be the very thing I needed the most. ✨

Everybody is different but this is my truth. My goal was to positively share my transplant journey to help and inspire others, but unfortunately it was not to be!

Have you ever considered a hair transplant?

The lovely Claire wig in the best hair tutorial you will ever see! 🤣

This lovely piece made a little trip back to me after an online purchase … not as a return, but for a lace trim āœ‚ļø

Because let’s be honest… cutting lace can feel really daunting.

When I first started Loss 2 Lace I didn’t feel confident when it came to cutting lace for others. It’s such a personal thing - how much you keep, how much you cut, how you wear your hair… and the recommended ā€˜leave 1cm’ doesn’t work for everyone.

But through experience (and a lot of conversations) I’ve grown more confident and have finally had the opportunity to make a video on it!

With this one, we had a video call first to talk through:
āœ”ļø how she wears her hair
āœ”ļø how much lace she wanted to keep
āœ”ļø the pros and cons of different options

Then she made her way back to me for her trim!

One thing I always explain…

If you’re an ear tucker and don’t have hair at the sides to blend, you’ll usually keep the wig hairline at the sides.

The downside is… it can sometimes cause a bit of lace lift when you tuck.

Not always though - because head shape, curves and natural hairlines all change how the lace sits.

That’s why I always talk through the options first!

Whereas if you do have hair to blend (like me), you can cut slightly past the wig hairline at the sides.

It feels scary… but it can make such a difference to the final look.

And I will never cut lace in one go.

I start with the rainbow round shape on the mannequin head, then go in freehand - slowly and carefully to refine it.

Personally, I’ll often wear them a few times before committing to that final cut.

So if you’ve seen those one-cut and done videos and thought… ā€œthere’s no way I could do thatā€ you’re not alone.

If you have any questions, my comments and DMs are always open. There’s only so much I can fit into one video and caption but I’m always here to help. šŸ«¶šŸ»
