Hi, I’m Judith, and I wanted to wish you a very heartfelt congratulations on your pregnancy. To start the conversation, here’s a little bit about me…
Firstly, I’m a mother. My six children (now adults!) and four wonderful grandchildren have provided the personal experience that serves as the backdrop to my professional training as a doula.
Cornwall is my home, but my work takes me from my house on the south coast to right across England (even as far as Ghana, supporting maternity units).
I am very flexible as to how we can work together. From the moment you find out you’re expecting, I can work closely to plan your ideal birthing scenario, answering those sometimes huge and sometimes tiny questions that all build into this life-changing process as parents. I offer services that guide you through the three phases: before, during and after birth in a way that suits you.
With a decade of postnatal and birth support in a range of settings, I am here to hold space for you, bringing a calm, steady presence and deep understanding of both birth and motherhood. In the weeks after birth, I offer gentle, practical support for both parents. This could be help with feeding, or providing practical and emotional support as needed. It could be helping you settle baby, offering guidance on routines, or just being a steady, calm presence when you need a moment of rest during those first few weeks.
Beyond birth, I have a life-long love of animals. Over the years, I have delivered everything from litters of puppies, to baby guinea pigs and even goat kids. These experiences have formed so much of who I am and cemented my love and fascination with new life of all kinds.
As two of my own sons have entered fatherhood, it has helped deepen my understanding and compassion for birth partners. I approach each parenting experience in a ‘parent-led’ way, which seeks to include both birthing and non-birthing partners in a way that is tailored for both of you.
Please feel free to reach out for a no-obligation chat, we can talk about how things are going so far or even just chat about baby guinea pigs! I so look forward to hearing from you.
