Life is filled with choices.

And with choices come consequences.

Experiencing the natural outcomes of the choices we make is not only healthy but also crucial to us developing as mature, resilient and secure adults.

We can give our children safe choices and support them in managing the consequences.

If done in an age appropriate manner, and within a safe environment, it is a healthy and important experience to offer them.

Society Without Abuse can offer support and guidance to practitioners.

Too many youngsters are affected by domestic abuse - either within their family, or themselves.
Today, we got together with our friends, FearFree and the You Trust to host a webinar aimed at professionals who may engage with young people struggling with the impact of abuse.

We are taking action to support children and young people with SEND and have purchased the former Calder House Independent School site near Colerne. Now called The Northwood Centre, it will become a satellite campus of an existing Wiltshire special school and will:
✅ Create much-needed specialist places closer to home
✅ Reduce reliance on costly out-of-county placements
✅ Deliver on our commitment to inclusive, high-quality education

The Corsham therapy room is getting ready for Christmas 🌲🍂💫

Back in the days, a lumber merchant from Austria who studied art history arrived in the US, and somehow managed to weave his way to becoming a trusted figure of child psychology.

While that is quite scary to think about, it is even scarier to know that it is unfortunately not just a thing of the past....

To this day, people in the mental health field give themselves titles right, left and centre.

They offer services. They charge high fees.

They have no qualifications or less/different than advertised, but word it in a way that makes it sound professional and qualified.

They also have charisma; they put letters after their names that make them look important (but are clinically meaningless), they can talk the talk.
But they can't walk the walk.

They put clients at risk of harm.
And to this day, they get away with it...

We must work together to ensure that clients are protected and that service providers are made accountable.

I know I have many posts about this but it can't be say enough. Always check credentials. Check registration. Check qualifications. Never stop checking.

You should not have to do so. But unfortunately, people are thirsty for money, recognition, validation, ego boost and much more.

But you do not have to pay the price of someone's greed.
Because you matter.

The relocation of the Corsham room is now complete🎉

Thank you to everyone for their patience while this was all being set up.

It has been a positive start so far and I cannot wait to welcome everyone back ✨
