Rachael Blackmore Counselling

Rachael Blackmore Counselling I am a therapeutic counsellor based in Corsham, supporting you to gain insight, build resilience, and experience life in a more positive way.

Sometimes life feels too difficult. You might be unhappy at work, be going through some difficulty in a relationship or perhaps something from your past is affecting your life today. Whatever it is, it’s good to talk, and I provide a safe place in which you can talk in confidence and where you will be listened to with compassion, understanding and without judgement. I believe in the power of relat

ionship: building a relationship with you where trust and acceptance facilitate open communication about the things that are troubling you. I am committed to helping you explore your difficult feelings and experiences to find a way to feel better and experience life differently. I will work at your pace; I offer short term and long term counselling in a comfortable room at Westgate House, Gloucester. Individual sessions last for 50 minutes and cost £65. Couples sessions are an hour and cost £95. With a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, I work as an integrative therapist. This means I draw on the Person-Centred approach and use Psychodynamic theory to work collaboratively with you to improve your mental and emotional well-being. I work with many issues, including low self esteem and self confidence, gender dysphoria, sexuality, career support and redundancy, stress, marriage and relationship issues, affairs and betrayals, work related stress, infertility, separation and divorce and transgender issues. I have a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Gloucestershire College. I am a member of BACP. I have worked with various agencies, such as Listening Post, Cotswold Counselling, and Teens in Crisis.

Lately I’ve realised how often people are quietly carrying a lot while still “getting on with things.”

With work, family and other responsibilities, sometimes it only takes one extra thing to tip the balance, and even though you are juggling so much you feel that somehow you need to just keep going, regardless of how well you're coping.

If that’s you, you’re not alone. And it’s okay to admit when things feel a bit heavy, even if there isn’t one big obvious reason why.

Sometimes just having a space to talk can make more of a difference than you expect.

If you'd like to share the burden, you might consider having some counselling. Please feel free to reach out and arrange an initial chat to see if it's something that feels right for you.

You don’t need a “big reason” to talk to a counsellor.

It’s not just for crisis moments or when things feel completely overwhelming.

Sometimes it’s just about having a space to untangle your thoughts, make sense of your feelings, or say things out loud that you’ve been holding in for a while.

If something’s been on your mind, that’s reason enough. If you feel you have something you'd like to talk through with me I can promise you a warm, non-judgemental and supportive space where we can make sense of things together.

Is this something you have experienced? It makes sense that an insecure partner needs more reassurance and that if you are a little 'off' at times they could interpret that as being about them and your satisfaction within the relationship. It's also worth considering if you behave like this and why, and if it resonates with you, maybe talking it through with a counsellor could help 🌷

Went for a mindful walk today around Corsham Court grounds, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the geese are honking, the sheep are baaing and the flowers are blooming. This post and the photos are the only time I took out my phone. What's not to love about this!?
It was a much needed breath of fresh air after a hard but enjoyable day on my Supervison course ☀️ 🌷 🌻

Are you standing at a crossroads in your life, unsure which path to take next? Maybe I can help...

I’m Rachael, a therapeutic counsellor based in Corsham and online, supporting you when you find yourself at a pivotal moment in life. Working with both individuals and couples, I can help you navigate challenges together or as a single voice seeking clarity. You might be considering a career change, facing a relocation opportunity, the end of a relationship, or the complex decision of whether to rebuild one that has faltered.

I create a calm, supportive space where you can pause and reflect. Together, we explore what’s really going on - your thoughts, emotions, and the things that matter most to you. This isn’t about being told what to do, but about finding clarity in your own voice, making decisions that feel authentic and sustainable and stepping into the next chapter of your life with greater confidence and direction.

If you’d like to find out more about working with me, I’d love to hear from you!

Ever met someone and felt an instant connection… like you’ve known them forever?

I've started to wonder if there's a simple reason for that - could it simply be just “vibes”..?

Understanding attraction can reveal a lot about who we are (and why we choose the people we do). Let me know what you think!

Absolutely. Social expectations mean we often agree to things out of a sense of politeness or not wanting to look rude. It's important to teach ourselves and our children that it's okay to say no thank you and stick to it.

'No' doesnt mean 'persuade me'
