Meet the Team Monday.
Care Professional Chris,
I started in the care industry 16 years ago as a carer and gained various qualifications as I realised I’d found a job I truly enjoyed.
I built meaningful relationships with the residents and thoroughly enjoyed looking after them, which led me to progress into other areas within the care home.
I stayed at the care home for 12 years, and then I began working with Home Instead. I really took to it and developed a strong rapport with the clients.
My job varies day to day, from helping with domestic tasks to providing personal care, as well as companionship calls—where I might take a client out shopping or for a meal, chat with them about their past, and really get to know them.
I thoroughly enjoy my role and care deeply about the clients. It’s a very rewarding job.
I’ve learnt a great deal throughout my journey in care, and I hope to continue.

Care Professional Simone, 🌻
After retiring from the police, I knew I couldn't just sit around. I have a very caring and fun nature, and when I saw an ad for Home Instead on Facebook, I knew it would be a perfect fit!
Since joining, the team has been great at matching me with clients with whom I've developed genuine friendships. Whether it's helping with meals, tidying up, or just having a chat, it truly feels like I'm visiting a friend - not working.
I was a bit worried about administering medication, but the comprehensive training I received was thorough and gave me all the confidence I needed to perform my tasks. And thanks to Home Instead's person-centred approach, I feel like I'm making a real, positive difference in people's lives.
