Week One: Done. 🌿
We’ve just wrapped up the first session of our mindfulness course, and I couldn't be more impressed by our small but perfectly formed Mindful Mondays community. It’s a thoughtful, engaged group, and the atmosphere in the room is already so supportive.

This week, we focused on waking up to our experience. Instead of moving through the day on autopilot, we explored what happens when we intentionally engage all our senses. We also took some time to discuss the foundational attitudes: like patience and non-judging, that help us stay grounded.

A huge thank you to everyone for such a meaningful start. See you next week!

Better Together. ✨

Love this calendar from Action for Happiness, leading their campaign.

Humans are wired for connection. From a lower risk of depression to a boost in heart health, our relationships are the foundation of our wellbeing.

Whether it’s a long-overdue coffee date or simply smiling at someone on your morning walk, every interaction counts. Connection is a muscle, the more we use it, the stronger our community (and our mental health) becomes.

Take a moment today to bridge the gap. Reach out, check-in, and stay connected.

Noticing the quieter impacts of gender expectations. 🫣

This article highlights how ongoing exposure to sexism isn’t just emotionally difficult, the chronic stress it creates can affect mental and physical health over time.

In counselling, I often see how being dismissed, undervalued, or expected to conform to certain roles quietly accumulates and impacts wellbeing.

It’s also important to recognise that rigid gender expectations can harm men too, limiting emotional expression, discouraging help-seeking, and increasing pressure to cope alone.

Noticing these patterns, calling them out when we can, and seeking support if you feel impacted really matters. These experiences are not “just part of life” and no one has to carry them on their own. 📣💪☺️

Subtle sexism that pervades everyday life often gets shrugged off. But research shows it can still have lasting psychological effects – including "thinning" parts of the brain.

Hello! Are you thinking about what ways to support your health and happiness in 2026? I am going to be running my 8-Week Mindfulness Course from the 2nd of February at Gastard Village Hall.

Join me for this lovely course and I will guide you through the fundamentals of mindfulness, equipping you to build a personalised practice for lasting well-being.

Build emotional resilience and reduce stress, anxiety and physical and emotional pain. Combining two evidence-based techniques: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, the course brings together traditional practices of meditation, movement and storytelling with scientific insight into neuroplasticity, our lifelong ability to change.

We will be together for 8 weeks from the 2nd of February 10:45am until 12:45pm. Possibly breaking for school hols, but that's to be confirmed and dependent on the preference of the participants.

The cost is £260 and includes recordings of all the meditations I will guide you through for your own on-going practice.
