What a wonderful day I had hosted by Writing & Therapy at Hazel Hill Wood. Words in the Wood is a day of connections - with the woods and nature, with each other and with ourselves.
It was such a privilege to kick the day off with a mindful walk, to wake up our senses to the colours, sounds and smells the woods provide.

It was a bit damp and chilly, but the experience wasn’t impaired. I was surprised at how the invitation to write around a loose theme, can bring unanticipated feelings to the surface. Caroline worked perfectly alongside the beautiful venue and team to gently but securely hold the group through the day.

Try Something New This November!

Okay, so I appreciate we're over a week in, but perhaps my 'something new' is to be less efficient! 😉

Finally, I'm excited to share the Action for Happiness calendar for November, focusing on the theme of "Trying Something New!"

Action for Happiness reminds us:

"Trying something new helps us grow. Fresh activities bring joy and confidence – and can often help us see challenges in a different light."

I couldn't agree more! Changing your routine, no matter how small the action, offers significant benefits for your mental health:

Boosted Confidence: Successfully completing a new task, even a small one, builds self-belief.

Increased Mental Flexibility: Stepping out of your comfort zone trains your brain to adapt to change, making you more resilient.
