So how do you break these obsessions?

Simple, but not easy.

Notice the obsession.
Ask yourself: “What am I trying to control right now?”
Ask: “Is this actually in my control?”
If it’s not, you have to practise letting it go.
Replace control with action.
Instead of worrying, do something.
Instead of overthinking, move forward.
Instead of checking, chasing, stressing — improve your life.
Focus on building, not controlling.
Build your health.
Build your income.
Build your skills.
Build your confidence.
Build your future.

Builders don’t have time to be obsessed with things they can’t control.

You control actions.
You don’t control other people.
You control your behaviour.
You don’t control the past.
You control what you do next.
You don’t control how long something takes.
You control whether you keep going.

Here are a few obsessions that quietly ruin people’s lives:

The obsession with being liked.
The obsession with being right.
The obsession with not failing.
The obsession with what your ex is doing.
The obsession with money.
The obsession with the past.
The obsession with how life “should” be.
The obsession with other people’s opinions.

None of these make your life better.

They just make your world smaller.

Because when you're obsessed with something you can’t fully control,
you live in a constant state of stress and disappointment.
