That’s simple terms.

It is an intense, deep, destroying “habit” that controls your life.

But you CAN break out of it!

Breaking the habit of emotional eating is a journey that requires patience and persistence, I’m not going to lie to you.

However, with the right strategies and support you can learn to undo this coping mechanism you have developed (by no fault of your own!) and regain control over your eating habits and life!

🥗You insist on continuing to diet - Restrictive diets make your brain unhappy, which in turn makes you unhappy, feelings of unhappiness cause you to emotionally eat. So stuff the diet!

✍️You won’t track yourself - How are you going to be able to understand why you emotionally eat if you are not checking in on yourself daily?

🫤You let yourself feel “stuck” - if you concur to believe that you are stuck in this way of living than you will never break free from it!

I may sound harsh but sometimes we all need a realty check 💚

I will save you time and tell you it does not work!!

I tried everything from chewing gum to throat sprays and just get frustrated that nothing was working, that I would over-eat even more. 🙈

But the reason they weren't working is that they are 𝒏𝒐𝒕 effective, in order to stop over-eating I needed to understand my behaviour and actions and learn more about myself. Now I have these tools I want to share them with you.

ℋ𝒶𝓋ℯ 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝒽𝒶𝒹 ℯ𝓃ℴ𝓊𝑔𝒽?

I remember feeling like there was no way out, this was my life forever and I will always be a failure.
But then I started a journey and found that most things I had been taught about food, female bodies and society expectations were not true. In fact, they were so far from reality, and even further from the reality, I would like and deserve to live in.

My outlook changed, and my relationship with food become so much better, my confidence soared. And I look back at the girl I was and feel the pain she went through, the struggles she dealt with every day in her mind and it still makes me sad. But because of this journey, that girl looks unrecognisable now, not just physically but her mental strength and resilience are more than she could have imagined back then.
And I want to take 𝘺𝘰𝘶 on this journey, because no matter how long you have been dealing with it, no matter how deep the issue goes, 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘁!

I call it my previous life because of how far I have come since then. I haven't brought one of these for years because I tend to stay away from ready meals as they never taste as good as you are led to believe. But I am swamped with work and it was reduced so 🤷 But when I was putting it in the microwave I was suddenly transported back to when I used to do this like I was looking at myself through new eyes. And it made me smile at how much more free and happier I am now when it comes to food and my body.

I remember starving myself the day after a binge only to binge again that evening because I was hungry.
I spent the whole day feeling guilty about what I had done the night before.
Trying so hard to "undo" what I had done that I was ignoring my body's signals.
I wasn't giving it what it the basic daily needs.
So by the time the evening came around, I would overeat again, why?𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆。
It seems so logical now but I understand how it doesn't at the time.
Right now you are stuck in this cycle of binge and restriction and it is not serving you. It is not helping you.
So next time you binge, no matter how big the urge is, please do not restrict the next day. You can not "undo" what you did, but you can serve your body better as it deserves. 💚
