We continue to ask visitors to join our staff in wearing a mask in some areas of QA Hospital due to a rise in respiratory illnesses, including flu, as well as norovirus. This helps protect our patients, visitors, and staff.
Masks are encouraged in:

โข Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
โข Acute Medical Unit (AMU)
โข Any other areas identified by ward staff
Masks are available at the doors, and patients and visitors can wear one across all our services if they prefer.
Please do not visit if you have flu symptoms, vomiting or diarrhoea. If you need medical advice and aren't sure which is the right service, contact NHS 111 online or by phone. Where possible, please attend appointments alone.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe. ๐

If you have flu, there are some things you can do to help get better more quickly.
Flu will often get better on its own, but it can make some people seriously ill. It's important to get the flu vaccine if you're eligible.
We would like to invite patients and members of the public to take part in an interactive engagement session focused on โMaking Better Decisions with Patientsโ.
๐ Monday 19 January 2026
โฐ 9:30am to 11:30am (please arrive from 9:25am)
๐ Landport Community Centre, Charles Street, Portsmouth, PO1 1JD
The session focuses on Realistic Medicine, an approach that puts patients at the heart of care and supports shared decision-making based on what matters most to you. Your feedback will help shape how services are delivered across our Trusts.
Our emergency department (ED) is extremely busy at the moment. ๐
If you attend ED with a minor illness or injury, you may be signposted to more appropriate services.
Please only attend ED for life-threatening emergencies. For other urgent medical needs, your local urgent treatment centre (UTC) can often see you more quickly for less severe conditions. โฑ๏ธ
