We often get asked if it’s safe to resistance train during pregnancy.

Recent research says resistance training during pregnancy isn’t just safe… It’s genuinely beneficial.

Even though many guidelines barely mention strength work, newer studies show it can ease common symptoms like fatigue, back pain, and dips in mood.

It also helps with blood sugar control in gestational diabetes and supporting healthier long-term outcomes for the child.

Strength training can even increase the likelihood of a smoother delivery. And for the baby, it boosts uterine blood flow and supports healthier growth and cognitive development.

As with all forms of exercise, there are guidelines, such as anything that risks abdominal trauma, unstable/balance-heavy movements, and situations where you can’t regulate temperature.

When done appropriately, resistance training is a safe, effective way to stay healthy during pregnancy, for both mum and baby.

Are you in the same spot as last year?

Time waits for no man (or woman).

Something we’ve noticed a lot over the years, people often inquire about getting started, but then don’t get the ball rolling.

Then, 1, 2, sometimes even 4 years later, they come back.

Same goals. Same frustrations. Just a few more months or years down the line.

Sometimes, it’s just not the right time, and that’s fine.

But more often than not, it’s the human nature of just putting things off.

“I’m 74 now… and I feel younger than I did 10 years ago.”

Before Alan started working with Pioneer Performance coach Finn, he’d already tried the gym on his own.

But instead of progress, he ended up with injuries, wasted time, and physio bills.

Like many people his age, he assumed aches, stiffness and slowing down were just part of getting older.

Now, at 74, Alan moves with confidence, has built real strength, and no longer fears falling or hurting himself.

Our clients don’t need more motivation… they need a system that actually works.

Because when life gets busy, motivation is the first thing to disappear, but structure keeps you moving.

And that’s exactly what Mel found when she came to us…
