A lot of people think results require long sessions, weekend boot camps, intense “shreds,” or 6-week challenges.

It sounds productive. But it’s mostly just noise.

Real progress comes from training smarter, fewer sessions, more focused training, done consistently, with the right plan.

Richard wasn’t new to training; he’s been a member at many different gyms over the years

But after 2020, life filled every spare gap, his routine slipped, and hours a week in a gym just wasn’t realistic for him or his family any more.

That’s where most people go wrong, doing more of what looks intense, instead of what actually works.

So we built Richard a plan around his life to help him:

Gain the fitness to keep up with his young boys

To feel back in control

To play football weekly without the fear of injury

Structure and accountability, without the time drain

He could only commit 2 hours a week in the gym, plus 30-minute home sessions when he could.

14 weeks later:

8 kg down

Muscle, strength, and mobility all improved

Energy and confidence up.

Not to mention, a dad who can sprint around and kick a ball without paying for it the next day

Working with our coach Nathan, he’s delivered a brilliant transformation in a short, realistic window.

Proof that results don’t come from having more time, they come from doing it the smart way.

NEW RESEARCH. NEW INNOVATION.

Recent studies have shown that square Olympic plates can help you build more muscle with every rep.

Here’s why…

Unlike traditional round plates, square plates subtly shift the load as you lift.

Each corner creates a slight change in resistance through the movement, forcing your stabilising muscles to work harder to control the bar path.

The result?

More muscle fibres recruited.

Greater time under tension.

And a stronger, more resilient physique from head to toe.

It’s not just lifting anymore… it’s adaptive resistance training.

We’ve been testing them in-house… and the feedback has been interesting to say the least.

So… what do you think?

Game changer… or are we taking things too far?

When we capture our clients’ stories, it’s not just about marketing what we do.

It’s about showing you what’s possible.

We’ve lost count of how many people come in and say they saw themselves in someone else’s journey.

Because health and fitness is rarely just about training.

It’s tied up in confidence, life stress, external commitments, self-belief, identity… and a lot more beneath the surface.

So when someone shares their story, it’s not just about the result.

It’s about everything they had to overcome to get there.

We often get asked if it’s safe to resistance train during pregnancy.

Recent research says resistance training during pregnancy isn’t just safe… It’s beneficial.

Even though many guidelines barely mention strength work, newer studies show it can ease common symptoms like fatigue, back pain, and dips in mood.

It also helps with blood sugar control in gestational diabetes and supporting healthier long-term outcomes for the child.

Strength training can even increase the likelihood of a smoother delivery. And for the baby, it boosts uterine blood flow and supports healthier growth and cognitive development.

As with all forms of exercise, there are guidelines, such as anything that risks abdominal trauma, unstable/balance-heavy movements, and situations where you can’t regulate temperature.

When done appropriately, resistance training is a safe, effective way to stay healthy during pregnancy, for both mum and baby.

What is 2–2–1 Personal Training?

2–2–1 Personal Training is where you share your coaching sessions with one other person, usually a partner or close friend.

For a lot of people, starting the gym on your own can feel like a big step.

Having someone alongside you instantly makes it feel more comfortable, more enjoyable, and far less intimidating from day one.

It also brings an extra level of accountability.

You’re not just turning up for yourself, you’re turning up for each other. And that makes it much easier to stay consistent.

For it to work properly, you’ll both need to have similar goals, a roughly matched level of experience, and availability that lines up.

When those things are in place, it becomes a really strong option.

You’ll still receive expert coaching, a clear structure, and individual guidance both in and outside of your sessions, just with the added benefit of sharing the cost.

If there’s someone you’ve been thinking about training with, this is your nudge to make it happen.

Drop us a message to register your interest and we’ll be in touch.

“If I don’t do this now… I’m probably going to put it off forever.”

Liam had wanted to change his body shape for years.

With a wedding on the horizon and his 31st birthday behind him, he knew this was the right time, but he’d been here before.

Having busy weeks, quiet weeks, there was always a reason to wait.

He’d joined gyms. He’d lost weight. Nothing ever stuck.

The pattern was familiar: “I’d just do 20 minutes on the cross trainer… I didn’t enjoy it. It felt like a chore.”

Showing up, going through the motions, and never actually getting anywhere.

That all changed when he started working with Pioneer Performance.

A program built around his body. Real support from his PT Finn. Session times that kept him accountable & actually fit his life. No extreme diets.

The results speak for themselves:

24 pounds lost. 1.7 stone gone.

Stronger, fitter, and healthier than he’s ever been and now he’s someone who genuinely looks forward to that training time in his diary

“I’ve never had a PT before. I’d walk into commercial gyms and have no idea what to do.”

Now he knows exactly what he’s doing.

We’re incredibly proud of you, Liam. 👏🏼
