Important update - We are aware that there is a huge amount of media coverage about injectable weight loss drugs (Mounjaro and Ozempic) and the fact that GP’s are now able to prescribe these for obesity. Currently the ICB, who commissions local services, have stated that these medications are NOT to be initiated by primary care/GP’s. A recommissioned obesity service to provide these medications is anticipated by September 2025. It is worth noting that in the first year only those in the highest priority cohort will be considered (BMI>40 and at least 4 obesity related conditions). Please be prepared that if you request this medication, we will not be able to help at the current time. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates as they arrive.

NHS Talking Therapies
They provide a wide range of free and confidential support to people aged 16. You can self refer by either filling out the self referral form or telephoning their referral centre on 02476 671 090 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4.30pm).

They can support you if you feeling down or anxious, can help you if you are living with a long term condition or newly diagnosed, support you with your mood during pregnancy or can offer couple therapy.

We provide a wide range of free and confidential support to people aged 16 and over across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull

A patient Information Sessions is being held to give patients an opportunity to learn more about the programme, ask questions, and make an informed decision about joining. These are designed to provide valuable insight into how the programme works and the benefits it offers.

Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week is a joint campaign from NHS England and Diabetes UK that takes place 26 May - 1 June 2025. The campaign aims to raise awareness of type 2 diabetes, how to prevent it, the complication risks and the groups at high-risk of developing the condition.
