Over the past few years many of you will have met Whiskey - my little meeter & greeter! She knew my morning routine of preparing my treatment room ready for clients & would park herself in the hallway eyes firmly focused on the front door ready. She liked to say a gentle hello before pootling off back to the kitchen.
Over the past few months meeting & greeting has become less & less. Her zest for life easing away. She spent a lot of time asleep, however her built in treat radar never let her down, asleep to awake if she heard the rattle of the treat tin!
We knew in our hearts it was time to let her go & be re-united with John aka Big John who had her from a pup. So yesterday, with lots of love, Jon, Reggie, Toby & I around her, Whiskey slipped away peacefully at home with classic FM playing quietly in the background. We all had time to say goodbye, shed a few tears & be with her before we drove her, tucked up cosy & warm in her bed, topped with rose petals & flowers from mums garden, arriving at the Pet Cremation Service Whiskey was in comfort & style. Only the best for our special girl.
We will miss her greatly but she gave us plenty of laughs & leaves us with lots of memories & photos, she will not be forgotten.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Jen The Freckle Vet & PCS for your kindness & compassion, easing Whiskey over the rainbow bridge. If you are at a similar time with your beloved pet or starting to think about the end of life care then I can recommend all of the services I have mentioned & The Gentle Goodbye web site, lots of ideas & inspiration for making this time personal & special for you & your beloved pet.
Farewell Whiskey we love you xx
