💊 Only Order What You Need – Medication Campaign 💊

Our local NHS Integrated Care Board is currently running a campaign to help patients only order the medication they need. Some patients may receive a text message or email about this campaign.

📱 If you receive one of these messages, there is no need to contact the surgery.

The message is simply to share helpful information about:
- rdering medication responsibly
- Reducing medicine waste
- Keeping patients safe with the medicines they take

We encourage you to take a moment to visit and read the following website for more information
https://www.happyhealthylives.uk/staying-happy-and-healthy/keeping-yourself-happy-and-healthy/only-order-what-you-need-your-medication/

Thank you for helping the NHS reduce unnecessary medication waste and ensure medicines are available for everyone who needs them. 💙

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

We are seeing a rise in measles cases in parts of England.

Vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious illness.

We’re encouraging parents to check their children are up to date with their vaccinations. Check your child's red book or speak to their GP practice.

💊 Only Order What You Need – Help Reduce Medicine Waste 💊

Did you know that millions of medicines are wasted every year, costing the NHS money that could be used for patient care?

Our local NHS team is running a campaign to help reduce unnecessary prescriptions – and you can help with one simple step 👇

✅ Before ordering your repeat prescription, please check what medicines you already have at home.
You may find you don’t need to order everything just yet.

Why does this matter?
Unused medicines can’t be reused.
Wasted medicines cost the NHS millions each year.
Reducing waste helps the environment 🌍

A similar campaign elsewhere led to:
✔ Fewer unnecessary prescription requests
✔ Hundreds of thousands of pounds saved
✔ A big reduction in environmental impact

📌 What you can do

Only order medicines you actually need
Let us know if you’ve stopped taking a medication
Ask us if you’re unsure what you should still be taking

Small changes from lots of patients make a big difference 💙
Thank you for helping us look after NHS resources and the planet.

📣 Have you received a GP Patient Survey in the post?

Some of our patients will receive the 2026 GP Patient Survey, which is sent out by NHS England (not by the surgery). If you do receive one, we’d really encourage you to take a few minutes to complete it and return it.

The survey is completely confidential:

We don’t know who receives one

We don’t know who fills it in

We can’t see individual answers

What we do receive is an overall summary that helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve — based on what matters most to you.

Last year, just under 400 surveys were sent out to our patients, but only 97 were returned. This year, we’d love to improve that response rate so the feedback better reflects our whole patient population.

If a survey like the one shown arrives through your letterbox, please:
✅ fill it in
✅ return it
✅ help shape the future of your GP services

Every response really does make a difference. Thank you for supporting your surgery 💙

✨ Practice Update – Site Improvements ✨

We wanted to share an update on some of the improvement works that have taken place across our sites.

Back in September 2025, we carried out some improvement works at our Green Lane surgery:

In addition, during the summer of 2024, we completed improvement works at our Harnall Lane site, replacing all downstairs flooring to improve the environment for patients, visitors, and staff.ing (Photo)
✔️ We also reconfigured one of our clinical rooms at the bottom of the surgery — what was previously one large treatment room has now been split into two, allowing us to create an additional clinical space for patient care. (Photo)

We’d also like to share that previous renovation work took place upstairs at Green Lane towards the end of 2023 and the start of 2024, which created three new clinical spaces. This work hadn’t been shared at the time, but it has been a key part of increasing our capacity to deliver patient care.

In addition, during the summer of 2024, we completed improvement works at our Harnall Lane site, where all of the downstairs flooring was replaced to improve the environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

And there’s more to come… upgrade works at our HarnallLane site have begun this week, focusing on certain areas upstairs. We will keep everyone posted with updates and will be sharing some photos of the progress next week — so watch this space 👀✨

We hope that all of the improvements we’re making across our sites are received well and help to improve both patient experience and the working environment for our teams 💙

📞 Surgery Update – Thank You for Your Patience 📞

This morning between 8:00am and 2:00pm, we received nearly 700 inbound calls. This is significantly higher than a normal Monday, and it has unfortunately meant longer waiting times on the phones today.

If you experienced a delay, we’re really sorry — and thank you so much to everyone who has used our call-back function. It does work, and your call remains safely queued in our system. We kindly ask that once you’ve requested a call-back, please don’t ring again, as repeat calls increase the overall call volume and slow things down for everyone.

Our reception team has been working flat out today — answering phones as quickly as possible while also supporting patients at the front desk and managing essential clinical and administrative tasks behind the scenes. They truly are doing their best, and we’re very grateful for your understanding and kindness toward them.

We’d also like to gently remind patients that the surgery may not always be the most appropriate first option for every issue. Your local pharmacy can help with a wide range of conditions and offer advice and treatment without the need for an appointment. Using Pharmacy First where appropriate helps ensure GP appointments and phone lines are available for those who need them most.

For general enquiries, we also recommend calling after 11:00am, when phone demand is usually lower.

Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and support — it really does make a difference on busy days like today 💙

We have declared a Critical Incident due to severe and sustained pressure on our services.

Demand on our hospital beds has led to significant and unacceptable delays in our Emergency Department (ED) and across our hospital wards. Patients are having unacceptable and lengthy waits and staff are working under extreme pressure.

Declaring a Critical Incident is not a decision we have taken lightly, but it is necessary to protect patient safety.

You can help us by choosing the right service for your care needs. Find out more information about the services available to you here - https://www.happyhealthylives.uk/services-programmes/think-which-service/

Please only call 999 or attend ED for serious accidents and for life-threatening emergencies. Where the situation is not life-threatening, alternative support will be available through NHS111 online or by calling 111.
