Let’s talk gait assessment 🗣️

Here you will see the lovely Danni with 2/3 of the horses which received treatment today.

From gait assessment we are looking for:
▪️Any areas of tension / compensatory movements
▪️Are they sound? Are they restricted in range of motion? Equal footfall?
▪️Are they restricted through there thoracolumbar?
▪️Is there a swing of the pelvis, are they dropping on a particular side?
▪️Is the horse able to move through there thoracic sling or do they appear restricted.

Horses will then be placed on a small circle on both reins and asked to back up. All the horses seen today for there maintenance treatments were seen as they were all youngsters either starting there ridden careers or riding away where their owner wanted to ensure that they were happy, comfortable and used to other people handling from the start of there careers. Follow to keep an eye on there journey! 🖤

The horse is pictured here on the left, demonstrating asymmetry through the pectorals, shoulder and tricep.

Following treatment the horse demonstrated a better posture, symmetry and suppleness.

Therefore through regular maintenance treatments enables our horses to continue to perform optimally as athletes.

The wonderful Charlie, enjoying his maintenance treatment.
Charlie is seen regularly to manage tension and stiffness where historically this was at his cervicals, thoracolumbar and glutes.
Through adapting a multidisciplinary approach and working closely alongside , Charlie demonstrated a significant reduction in tension, improved posture , significant improvement in range of motion in all four limbs alongside a noticeable difference in his ridden work.

We tailored the treatment to Jax’s needs and at his own pace, enabling Jax to thoroughly enjoy the session.

Wonderful Bob 🖤

Since his last treatment Bobs owner has noticed increased range of motion in the hind limb, difference in his way of going where he has been more exuberant and more like his “old self”, which was lovely to hear.

Bob thoroughly enjoyed his maintenance treatment yesterday, alongside his 🍏.

Each treatment is specific to your animal, where a tailored after care plan will be given, to suit your horses needs so that the hard work can continue after treatment. The overall goal being promoting wellness, suppleness and improving range of motion.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting DiDi. Didi suffered an old injury where her owner recognised intermittent stiffness and restriction within the limb alongside compensatory tension.

DiDi was super throughout her treatment which was a combination of chiropractic, massage and Photizo red light therapy.

I am excited to see what this partnership gets up to and to be apart of there journey! ⛰️ 💦 🏕️

The lovely Ted, thoroughly enjoying his treatment yesterday and processing once the treatment had finished.

Signs to look out for to see that your horses enjoyed there treatment:
🌿Lots of yawns
🌿Eye flickers
🌿Chewing
🌿 Immediate changes to posture
🌿Taking a moment of stillness

Ted has treatment to aid in his overall health and well being, alongside managing generalised stiffness as a result of his age. McTimoney Chiropractic treatment helps Ted to feel more supple with increased flexibility and improved range of motion.

Thursday was wonderful as I got to catch up with sponsored rider and her horses, all of which are doing amazingly a true testament to her and the partnership which she has made with them all.

They all went out and competed yesterday following there treatments where I’ll update with how they got on. Little hint… 🏵️

Cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of these horses.
